Is there any actual functioning Xbox360/PS3 emulators (not emulators F Curious, since I picked up a Wii one the other day.

Wii64 never did fix those Classic Controller Pro calibration issues. Ah well.

I found a hack on some forum to make the analog sticks on mine work. I don't remember where though. I just googled it and the person on that forum provided their link to their fix.

I found a leaked 1.7 version of Project 64 and tried it out, and it seems to work really well. I just wish that things like texture ripping were a built-in emulator feature rather than having to rely on the video plugin. The main reason I downloaded an N64 emulator was because I wanted to rip the textures from Blue Resort in Bomberman 64. The Rice video plugin doesn't run the game at all, and for some odd reason, the Glide64 plugin's texture dumping feature refuses to work entirely.

By the way, if anybody would be willing to rip the textures for me and send me the files they end up with, it would be greatly appreciated...

That's just being snarky. The level design is completely different between each of the games. The boss battles and powerups are not the exact same moves either.

I'm not being snarky dude. I'm the guy who tore the first two games open for hacking purposes. If anything, NSMB2 is a mod of NSMBWii. Apparently they decided to put some effort into NSMBU, so there is that I suppose.

But yeah, as far as Xbox emus go, I think Xeon was the only one to ever be semi-functional (By that I mean it only plays Halo NSTC-U). What's interesting to me though is I think it essentially attempts to turn the Xbox game into a windows executable.

I'm just saying telling someone they're not mising out on anything because it's the "same game" is misinformation. It's just like telling someone not to play the Lost Levels when that game has some different level design. Might as well not play Sonic 2 because they basically started out by modifying Sonic 1 from it as seen in the Nick Arcade beta.

Am I the only one who finds it funny that these emulators pretty much only run Halo 1? I completely understand why that game specifically, but it's funny because Halo 1 already has a PC port.

A 360 emulator should be doable with today's high end computers but a PS3 one is IMO much difficult. Emulating the CELL processor requires more than raw computing, the architecture of it is so different compared to modern computer architecture that Its gonna take many years for a PS3 emulator to be usable.

I'm just guessing here, but any PS3 or Xbox360 'emulators' would probably run a lot closer to VMWare or virtualbox. That is, you boot the xbox360/ps3 firmware and OS, and 'mount' the ISOs in the virtual drive. That way you could, say load the old blades dashboard or older ps3 firmwares.

Just to reply to both these comments, as the answer to them is somewhat related. Epsilonsama, the Xbox 360 would still be nearly as difficult to emulate, as the architecture in that, unlike on the original Xbox (which uses an x86 processor, same as any computer today), is based on a PowerPc core, same as the PS3, and infact, the same as the Wii, it's just the implementation of the POWER architecture that differes between them. Vangar, the problem with that is again that these machines run on completely different micro-processing architecture, so aren't the same as running VMWare, which simply allows you to run other OS's on your machine, OS's which would run natively on your machine today outside of VMWare (x86 compatible operating systems can still be installed directly to your PC all the way back to MS-Dos, and even further to some ports of CP/M). VMWare isn't an emulator, it allows you to run another x86 native operating system within your main one. To run PS3 or 360 software would require a real emulator, as they have completely different architectures to a PC.

That's the one I was thinking of!
