Let's take bets on why this port doesn't sell even remotely well if SEGA doesn't have anything up their sleeves with this.
Crazy Taxi coming to iDevices this month... Wait...was that.....YA YA YA YA YA!

They seriously announced a port with a ten second trailer three days before it came out? And it wasn't an accident?

iOS games usually get announced not long before they get released, this isn't anything special.

I guess the whole thing with the other ports being known for months before they released set a precedent in my mind. I don't follow the iOS stuff so it just seemed incredibly sudden to me. My post looks silly now.

Most iOS and Android games get released to no fanfare at all. But if we're honest... there's not really any need to advertise things like this months in advance. It's not like the kids need to save up their pocket money.
Take for example, that GTA V trailer. Good to know that game exists (I guess) but it's a long way from being released. Bit pointless.

So I downloaded it, and it seems pretty faithful. I've cleared almost all of Crazy Box save the final mission, although for some reason it seems... easier. The controls though honestly are not that bad. If you have $5 to blow and are looking for Crazy Taxi, this is probably you're best bet since the GC one costs more and the Xbox one is horrible.
You can also turn the music off and keep the sound effects on, making a very easy custom soundtrack. City Escape over the game is kinda lol.

It keeps crashing on my jailbroken 4th Gen iTouch.
EDIT: Ok, it's started working. It controls well enough, though it will take a little getting used to. There are a lot of sophisticated maneuvers that I'll have to re-learn with touch controls.

By the way, if anyone here has the iOS and modern PC version you can place the classic music back in the PC version. (I just tried it and it works well!)
Firstly open the iOS .ipa file (you should be able to find this once the game has been synced with iTunes. Just right click on the game in iTunes' apps section and select "Show in Windows Explorer") with a compression program such a 7zip and go to /Payload/CrazyTaxi.app/data/sounddata/music_adx where you will see all the music files in .adx format. Just extract these, apart from change_the_world.adx, to somewhere onto your computer.
Next go to your steam folder which I think defaults as C:/Program Files/Steam/steamapps/common/crazy taxi/SoundData/music_adx and delete all the contents! Feel free to back them up though!
Next you want to copy all your extracted tracks from the iOS version to this folder and do the following:
After that it should just work when you next start up the game!
You should also be able to add another 5 of your own tracks as long as they are in adx format by naming them to Jump_Blink.adx, Ragdoll.adx, Spy_Chaser.adx, Taking_It_Back.adx and Your_Mouth_Is_A_Guillotine.adx, although I haven't actually tested this theory.

- Make a second copy of all_i_want.adx and rename one copy to Black_Radio.adx and the other to Radiator.adx.
- Make a second copy of ten_in_2010.adx and rename one copy to Escape_Artist.adx and the other to Orange_Wednesday.adx.
- Rename them_and_us.adx to Get_Out.adx.
- Rename hear_it.adx to The_Chase.adx.
- Rename inner_logic.adx to Flinch.adx.
- Rename way_down_the_line.adx to Radical_Sabbatical.adx.

So this game has been out on iOS since October. I still can't beat the final Crazy Box mission.

OH! Thanks for that! It worked a treat. The only thing missing was the options menu loop. but it's not gonna be missed that much. I ported the CT 2 music in the place of the other 5 tracks.

Some brands were edited/different, and you mostly took people to generic/imaginary locations, as far as I remember. Some of the passengers were different too, at least I don't remember the green haired punk and so from the first game. However you had the Leningrad Cowboys as passengers at one point instead.
It also had GLITTER AND BLUR EVERYWHERE.
It all comes down to preference. CT3 is still very fun, it just doesn't add much to the gameplay.
Also the PC version had badass as fuck rockabilly tunes on the las vegas map.
