For most fangame projects, I just occasionally keep tabs on every now and then, for this reason. Some fangames I may go weeks or even months without checking for updates. There are very few that I actually will and have check frequently for updates (MMBN Chrono X, Sonic Classic, Sonic BTS etc.). This project is just not one of them for me.

I'm willing to make a wager. What's the over/under on the new PA here getting passed onto Membership?
Lemme give you a tip. I have multiple projects myself... hacks, an editor, potentially a hacking contest entry, and an ages old fan game project whose engine is shit and is preventing me from getting it off the ground...
Do you see me making ANY full out topics on ANY of these things? You'll find my signature promoting it... and MAYBE one during my first days on Retro... It got trashed. There is a reason for that. There are FAR more projects going on than anyone here really knows. You know why? Because they don't formally announce them with their own topic like this until they are substantial/useful. Quite frankly, if I was in any form of power to do so, this topic would be trashed, and I'd tell you to try again, once you put something of substance in it.
Whenever anything considered good is announced, it hits like a tidal wave, because its this new thing with a shitload of substance, and they show it right off the bat. It's not like the person just did it yesterday and spat it out... they worked on it for a great deal of time. Megamix didn't come out in a day. This isn't rocket science.
Back to the drawing board for you... if you get approved. OR, as jasonchrist pointed out, go back to something that the people really got behind. Are your partners with S1HD busy?? Why not make some subpar placeholder art, and just temporarily use it while working on other things you need? This shit will just piss people off. Oh, wait...
I saw the topic title, and it had me at hello... now this thread got my lunch break off to an annoying start.
Now, If you will indulge me for a moment, I will take this time to re-quote SS's last post on RK's last thread... because apparently he didn't get the hint.
Yeah, you know what? I'm going to make a special rule for redrawn games.
UNTIL YOU HAVE A PLAYABLE DEMO AROUND, DO NOT POST ABOUT YOUR FUCKING REDRAW GAME I DO NOT WANT PAGES OF STUPID ART BICKERING
I have long stopped giving a shit.
