Nope. I'm not.

Wow. Ok, here is the deal.

First of all, S1HD is still getting all of the attention I can give it right now. The lead artist has taken time to work on S3HD for now, and the other is in college. Don't act like I just got lazy, because that is the most fucking offensive thing you could say to me right now.

Second of all, you may think this is stupid, I don't know what I'm doing, that I haven't watched the video above, but in my opinion, those are all wrong. Because, behind the scenes, this project is tons more alive than the forum would suggest. Me and the rest of the team are doing our absolute best.

Finally, I'll tell you what. We have a really crappy first build just to test the engine and it's qualities. I will bring you a playable demo with completely original graphics and music in 1 week. Hold me to it. I've already started, and I'm not worried about not having time to see it through.

I don't think anybody is calling you lazy, nobody who makes an honest attempt at a fan project can be called that. It's very common though for people to be shit with managing their time and deciding to juggle too many balls. The most insanely fucking talented people in the hacking/fangame community are guilty of leapfrogging from project to project, I'm expecting someone to pop up and announce fucking "Quadruple Trouble" any day now. After all these well intentioned, grand visions, it's come to the point where we've heard it all before and people tend not to expect too much from them. Out of 100s of projects there has only ever been 3 completed ones (to a semi-classic standard), here's hoping you become another rare exception and not part of the rule because I really wanna play S1HD.

You might want to reserve your 20th post for the release of the promised demo, just to be on the safe side.

Oh for the love of god. This is why SFGHQ banned game announcements.

Oh for the love of god. I didn't want to post all of our assets on this site just to prove something. You can listen to the music at the bottom of the page, a few topics have art, etc.

Really? See my second response to this topic. You really don't have anything substantial to show right now. As other people have said, you should've held off on an announcement until you did. Contrary to what you believe, you DO have to prove that something is seriously underway if you're going to start a topic about it. I'll keep an eye out for a demo, if or when it comes.

Good luck robotnikclause, I think you're gonna need it. I really do like the passion you have for your projects, but you really got to show something more then a platform next time around, I hope you can hold your word on the 1 week demo, best of luck man.

You know what, I can barely keep up with just one project. All I can say is good luck robotnikclause....you sure as hell need it.

He's a god damned retard. Most of the shit he creates himself looks like shit.

Yeah, don't take all of the "Uh, stick to one project" stuff as insults or attacks. People are telling you that because they want to see you successfully complete something, and thinking that you can handle it is pretty arrogant. Companies like Ubisoft can handle multiple projects because they are staffed by thousands and any given project can have 50-100 people working on it.

You are not Ubisoft. One of the greatest lessons you can learn is knowing your own limits.

Also if you have the energy to work on 2 projects, then why not focus it on one project so that it can be released twice as fast ? I bet fans would prefer to have a new game every 2 years than to wait 4 years to get both.

See this Robotnikclause? This is a man who completed probably the best fan game of all, and he's well into his second. Learn from him.

Not just completed... he even added extra stuff after finished :P Gotta love that Widescreen resolution on my 1080p monitor :3

But yeah, some members my be a little harsh saying this, but for real, taking a lot of projects is not good at all in any enviroment. I'd recomend stopping some and focus on just one. Also, spend your free time learning about project management for a while, It will help a goddamn lot when doings those kind of projects, fangames and shit.

Don't know if that helped Eggmanclause, but I've been watching those videos for 3 days strait! Good stuff.

Looks like Botnickclause may be stuck pending approval for a while. By the forum it seems like there IS a demo, but they say it's a big file.

I never got into the game gear games. Making this is almost as odd as trying to make Sonic Spinball 2. I would ask why you'd make this, but it looks like you're going to try to tie the 16 bit games to the 8 bit games and have this new project be a part of S3HD. I'd hate to get all exited about a finished Sonic 2 HD just to find out it was the game gear version. :P

Good luck with the project, Robotnikclause.

well, I tried the demo right now and I must say that is not /too/ bad. My only complaint is that it doesn't look like a Game Gear game to be honest...they're using elements and sound effects from the 16 bit games and the game looks like it could been on Mega Drive instead of Game Gear, but is not too bad as I said. Cant' really say much since the demo is well...short. The physics are ok imo and ofc it lacks a lot of things but is off to a good start, but once again, looks nothing like 8 bit. I guess that's all I can say for now.

Forgot to mention, the demo is on their site, just like Flipside said. And it's just 24 MB in size, not that big I guess.

These guys really need to stick to one thing, and one thing only at a time. From what I've seen of Sonic 1-64 HD, there's nothing of even passable quality. I hope I'm proved wrong, not for myself, as I couldn't really care less about any of these remakes, but because I'd hate for more people to do a bunch of work that ends up in the shitter.

Basically, they need to sort everything out, concentrate on one thing, and release a promising 1 level demo. I'm a bit fed up of these "nothing" announcements where people just say "hay, we're going to do a new Sonic project, but we're not showing anything lawl".

I might be sounding like a dick, but I'd hate to see another project end up with nothing but a bunch of big ideas and sour grapes.
