I used to have the chaos emerald jingle as my text alert a few years ago. I don't even know how to get ringtones onto the flip phone I have now. Not without paying $3 for one.

I used to have an old Nokia phone, and you couldn't load or record ringtones onto it (it only made beeping sounds anyway) but I was able to write my own in it's ringtone editor, so I took around an hour one morning, programming the Sonic & Knuckles theme into it for my ringtone, note by note.

I've found a dead easy way to upload any wallpapers, ringers, etc. and download them onto your phone (even the cheapest ones!)

Go to http://rumkin.com/tools/sprint/, browse for whatever you want and upload it there. It'll then give you a number which you type in on your phone [when on the site], to which you then download it - and voila!

All of my ringtones are related to Sega, except for a couple of outliers. Right now I have Mouse Mania from Chu Chu Rocket. I rotate them according to feeling. Around Christmas I had Sea of Ice from Panzer Dragoon II and at the end of the year I had Stardust Speedway Bad future (JP). I don't use sounds for messages but someone mentioned the lamppost sound, I'm trying it out.

For some reason, Mobil gas stations use the ring sfx on their cash register.

Yeah I hear that when I go get gas, and I remember telling someone about it. They told me I played too much Sonic.
