Ah, I know a game has just been released on Steam in the last couple hours where upon downloading it the speed goes from 50-700kbps pretty freely
DAMN, I'm glad I'm a PC gamer, haha. I've had the Wii U version since the week it came out, and I absolutely love it, but this version just blows it out of the water, exactly the same as Generations did. 60FPS vs. 30, crisp, clearer graphics as opposed to the blurry, more grainy visuals you got on consoles... yeah. I'm really happy with this. The TF2 characters are pretty cool too, though it is pretty obvious that it's not their original voice actors. Wonder how hard it'd be to take some clips from TF2 and overlay them?
Just tried it, runs great on my laptop. Playing it at 1280x720 with AA, no Ambient Occlusion and all other settings on or on high except for water detail, which is on medium. Mostly runs at 60fps with these settings, these are my specs: Intel Core i7 2630QM (2 GHz quad core, turbo up to 2.9 GHz) Geforce GT540M 6GB RAM For comparison, Sonic Generations runs at 30-50 fps (it varies a lot) at the same resolution.

Three more things to add: Firstly, loading times are WAY better! But if you're spinning the coin roulette, it won't go until you win something or stop for a second. Second, there may be some minor engine improvements. I noticed you can now skip the post-GP celebration screen. Finally, my one complaint thus far, I can't seem to find a way to change it to 120hz refresh rate.
Well, after two hours of downloading, 1GB has been downloaded so far. It's going to be another 6+ hours before I can finally play it. I hate my connection so much. While I doubt I'll play it online tonight, feel free to add me on Steam since I will try the online play at some point (most likely this weekend if I'm not too busy with homework). Also glad to hear this game runs noticeably better than Generations. Sonic Generations ran well on my machine, but it was easily one of the most demanding PC games I've played and sometimes gave me annoying lag issues. Plus anytime I played it with my capture card, the game runs worse with noticeably more input lag. Does the PC version support mics for the online play?
I just played some online and can confirm that there's a possibility that you will come across random people that speak in a foreign language you don't understand. I also don't think you can mute others. :v:
As long as I have voice chat, I have no problem dealing with people who speak a foreign language in a racing game. It's not like I have to rely on them for team work. Edit- 2.1GB downloaded so far! Half way downloaded!
So me and my buddy are playing the game and I have a high end comp and he has a more lower end spec wise. When we play custom games I fly by him like it was nothing, as if he's driving in mud. We were playing on C class, so either he sucks so bad that I can just start lapping everyone or something is screwed up.

I have no idea why, but I'm now having a really bizarre computer problem. In the menu screen for Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing Transformed, out of nowhere, I'll hear some weird audio crashing sound, then no sound at all and my monitor acts like my computer isn't even connected to it until I reboot my machine. This happened three times with S&SASRT and it happened earlier with Sonic Generations. I'm so frustrated right now. I just want to play this brand new game and fucking can't because my computer is acting retarded. I've never had this issue before. Help?
Seems like quite a few people from what I've heard are having connection problems. Being told that the lobbies are no longer available when trying to join a lobby. Anyone know what's going on?
I tried closing out of MotioninJoy, disabling the dual monitor settings I have for my computer, and lowered the sound quality from my sound card. None of that help. I have absolutely no idea why this game has crashed at least six times on me now. It always crashes within ten minutes of starting the game.
I've played for a bit since night is the only time I'm not completely busy. The game works perfectly fine for me aside from I have to tone down the settings a bit. (My Computer isn't exactly High-End) I tried searching for a match tonight but no one seemed to be on, I seriously hope it's just because of the time of day. I'll try in the morning if I'm not busy. Lastly, random question: WHO IS THE MOST ANNOYING CHARACTER IN THE GAME. Just a random question. It's not like I'm going to use them in Matchmaking or anything, not at all.
Danica, purely because she's a no-talent racer and an obvious marketing addition (ironically, Wreck-It Ralph is too, yet he's more tolerable because of the whole video game thing. Still, no Sugar Rush stage is just criminal, Sega/Sumo.) Realistically, Pudding. Why?

S0L gives some answers regarding the PC issues. I have a feeling they're probably charging for the last one, even though it's already on the game data and playable if you swap it out. Useless for online though. Guess we shouldn't complain about that given the fact we got 3 extra characters and a much cheaper price. :v: I hope the fix the Voice Chat thing though. It's almost unplayable sometimes with people having their ingame audio repeated or them just not realising they have their mics on.
People who have their mics on all the time are the worst since, I've noticed, they usually tend to be eating something right into the mic and love to chew with their mouths open. Damn cows.
