Alright, to prevent n00bs from turning this place into kiddieland, every new member must take a very easy quiz before allowing to register:
http://forums.sonicretro.org/quiz.php

The "Register" link has been changed accordingly.

Existing members are exempt from the quiz, of course.

I know this doesn't exactly help the board traffic, but IMO I'd rather read 3 intelligent topics than 10 stupid ones a week. This would be a pre-emptive strike before it's too late. Although the quiz may not be very precise and may filter in/out wrong people, it's better than nothing.

Members may reply this topic to voice your comments. Would it be too easy, too hard, good idea, bad idea, bugs, etc.

Only one question? I got that in 5 seconds. I think is should be harder.

Simon, if I was the person to inspire you to make a newbie filter, I wish to apologize. I know my comments haven't been the most usefull or relevant, but the point of newbies coming here is so they can learn, and hopefully become a contribution to Sonic scene.

No no no, it wasn't you. It's mostly targeted to really really young kids who don't yet have the ability to think straight (see Chibigoku and sonic chaotix in trash forum).

I was worried because I first called myself "Mase, the Newest Newbie"

I'm happy now! :(

Needs to be harder, with more questions. I suggest adding questions involving complex differential equations and mollusc taxonomy.

Ah, almost got me there. :o I stink at math. But yeah, I think you should tweak it a little more. Maybe something like, (4x + 5x) + (3x - 2x) = 50 or something like that.

What's all that lame stuff gotta do with Sonic? Trust me. If you wanna prevent "n00bz", the way to go is a Sonic quiz! B) And then you can ADD the original quiz!

Your on the right track, PC2. But just because they know stuff about Sonic, doesn't mean the're intellegent.
