I guess I'll go through each song side by side and see which ones to keep/get rid of.

Ah, I love the City Escape tracks with the "WOO", "HEY!" and "oh yeah" in the beginning that aren't in the gamerip versions. Thanks for this.

The Metal Sonic fight doesn't open with the static on the CD. It also doesn't even loop or fade out. :/

Crysis City Act 1 actually has its speed up near the end of the track. I don't think any other Act 1 does that.

Many songs also get proper endings, though some just cut off on an appropriate beat and some fade out.

There was one other Act that had its Speed Up jingle included... I forget which one it was. Checking.

Edit: Huh, a quick glance doesn't reveal anything. Guess I was mistaken? I have no idea. Considering the whole thing's nearly 3.5 hours long, I'm gonna wait til tomorrow to check again. :v:

It's Rooftop Run Act 1, the other Act 1 song Tomoya Ohtani did.

Ah, okay. Yeah, Rooftop Run's is around the middle of the track, while Crisis City's is right near the end.
Thanks for confirming my sanity.

Someone should mirror to Mediafire. Megaupload throttles pretty badly.

Odd, why did they add the speed shoes 'mix to crisis city classic and not the others?!

Anyways, I'm doing what JaxTH is doing and listening to the gamerip vs. OST versions. so far barely any changes save for ones that add alittle mix at the end to properly end the song. City Escape mixes stand out the most even the convoy has a bit of an extension in the OST version.

I'll upload a gamerip set of the changed tracks so you can add them to this OST. it'll be mostly Speed Shoes 'mixes and seprated hub world melodys.

EDIT: My bad, looks like the speed shoes mix is in the other modern tracks.

You see, Ashram and the rest of you, this is why these album topics are one of my most disliked.

Because it makes me open up Audacity and do incredibly strange things like this. Enjoy "Yet Another Mushroom Hill Remix."

JezMM of SSMB went through the songs and listed the changes:

Quote

I'm bored, so for anyone wondering here's the tracks that are different on the OST:

(Proper endings involve a bit of music we haven't heard before, abrupt endings just sort of stop with a quick little drum roll etc like Rooftop Run - Day from the Unleashed OST, for example).

Green Hill: Act 1 - Has abrupt ending.
Green Hill: Act 2 Normal - Has abrupt ending.
Green Hill: Act 2 Fast - Has abrupt ending.
Chemical Plant: Act 2 - Has abrupt ending.
Sky Sanctuary: Act 2 Normal - Has proper ending.
Sky Sanctuary: Act 2 Fast - Has proper ending.
Speed Highway: Act 1 - Has proper ending.
Speed Highway: Act 2 - Has proper ending.
Speed Highway: Act 2 Skyscraper Downhill - Is extended.
City Escape: Act 1 - Extra vocals, has proper ending.
City Escape: Act 2 - Extra vocals, has proper ending.
City Escape: Act 2 - GUN Convoy Battle - Has abrupt ending.
Seaside Hill: Act 2 - Has proper ending.
Crisis City: Act 1 - Mixes in Speed-Up version towards the end.
Rooftop Run: Act 1 - Mixes in Speed-Up version halfway through, has proper ending.
Rooftop Run: Act 2 - Has proper ending.
Casino Night: Act 2 - Has proper ending.
Mushroom Hill: Act 1 - Has abrupt ending.
Mushroom Hill: Act 2 - Has abrupt ending.
Emerald Coast: Act 1 - Is a full extended version with proper ending, like the original album version.
Emerald Coast: Act 2 - Likewise, as above.
Radical Highway: Act 1 - Has proper ending.
Radical Highway: Act 2 - Has proper ending.
Water Palace: Act 1 - Has proper ending (just as the original album version did).
Water Palace: Act 2 - Has proper ending.
Tropical Resort: Colour Power Red Burst - Has abrupt ending.
Tropical Resort: Colour Power Cyan Laser - Has abrupt ending.
Tropical Resort: Act 2 - Has proper ending.
Boss Battle: Big Arms - Extended and has proper ending.
Boss Battle: Biolizard - Has abrupt ending.
Boss Battle: Egg Emperor - Has abrupt ending.
Special Stage - Has proper ending.
Challenge: Mission 1 - Lacks the SEGA Saturn advert samples at the start, has proper ending.
Challenge: MIssion 2 - Has proper ending.
Challenge: Mission 4 - Has abrupt ending.
Rival Battle: Metal Sonic - Excludes muted intro, has abrupt ending.
Rival Battle: Metal Sonic (US ver.) - Has abrupt ending.
Rival Battle: Shadow The Hedgehog - Has proper ending.
Boss Battle: Death Egg Robot - As in the game rip, combines all three phases into one song, has proper ending.
Boss Battle: Perfect Chaos Pt. 1 - Has proper ending.
Boss Battle: Time Eater Final Attack - Has abrupt ending.
White Space Medley - Obviously is a full medley - does them in order of stages, casino night, boss battles, rival battles - doesn't include Mega Drive Green Hill or any "new" content, has abrupt ending.
Menu 1 - Has proper ending.
Menu 2 - Has proper ending (very reminiscent of the Mega Collection title screen in length).
Jingle: Result Ver. 1 - Has abrupt ending.
Jingle: Result Ver. 2 - Has abrupt ending.
Skill Shop - Has abrupt ending.
Collection Room - Has abrupt ending.
Gallery - Has proper ending.

Any tracks not mentioned here either have no loop in the game anyway, or simply loop and then fade-out on the soundtrack.

And for those wondering about Cutscenes...

Cutscene 1 - Encompasses all of the Time Eater themes used in the intro, and the other variances from the White Space scenes.
Cutscene 2 - Plays during certain cheerful scenes on the 3DS.
Cutscene 3 - Plays during the Chemical Plant scene and various ones on 3DS.
Cutscene 4 - The mirror scene - scores the entire cut-scene, excluding the E.G.G.M.A.N. reprise.
Cutscene 5 - (I don't actually recognise this one).
Cutscene 6 - The shorter version of the Title Demo from when the two Sonics race for the emerald.
Cutscene 7 - Plays when Classic Dr. Eggman is "kidnapped" (I think).
Cutscene 8 - The entire score for the final boss cut-scene.
Cutscene 9 - Shortened Sonic 4 theme for Super transformation.
Cutscene 10 - Scores the entire ending cut-scene (including the same Party music from the intro of course).

Wonder when this'll get Wiki-fied.

Well gee, what's stopping you from doing it yourself? :P

P.S. Here it is. There's a gap in the disc 3 listing because that one page still seems to be missing in the archive at the top of the thread. Also, I'm really curious to hear a translation of those "Notes from Sound Team" pages. (And I apologize for any typos as I did this..I'm sure they're there somewhere.)
