I entered SAGE once or twice, first was back in 2003 when I was 12 :P
There's no way I could come close to the standard these days without using Sonic Worlds :(

Also on a RAGE related note, I entered the first with my SAGE 2003 entry. Think I got an honourable mention for it crashing on anything later than XP

Best game ever... versus Sonic 4: Episode 2

About time we hear something about SAGE and the voting week of the 2011 hacking contest! Now I'm just waiting to hear about Retro Channel v1.0 :). Guess we'll hear about it at SAGE...

Remember guys Registration deadline is the 14th! Be sure to register!

Shit, that's tonight! Dumb question, but if I register my two Sonic breakout fangames TONIGHT, will I be able to have my entries in SAGE?

EDIT: Answered my own question

Quote

E-mail your banner and page URL to [email protected] by September 14th! UPDATE: We're extending the regitration deadline! Originally it was a concern that the site would need additional tweaking time, so we wanted to give ourselves a few days to work it out - but things panned out and we're pretty confident we can extend the registration deadline. Just try to send us your info before SAGE starts, okay?

New Announcements:

Sunday the 18th at SAGE at 9:45PMEST

Posted Image

ARC IMPULSE CONCERT
An 8 piece videogame cover act out of Chicago. They battle it out with their extreme skills featuring violins, acoustic guitars, melodicas, and more to all sorts of videogame jams.

Monday, the 19th, at 9PM EST

Posted Image

Nick “Nario” Hagman is a man of many talents, however he is perhaps best known for his ability to successfully play and beat videogames entirely using a Dance Dance Revolution dancepad. He'll be performing a special for us for SAGE on monday so be sure to check him out.

Promo:

Tuesday (or I guess technically Wednesday) Night at Midnight EST, Nate Horsfall will be giving his demonstration on Animation on our videostream.

Nate Horsfall is a freelance animator who has worked with several major studios such as EA and Backbone Entertainment, where he worked on Sonic Rivals 2. He will be providing a demonstration of animation where he'll show you from the basics up how he works. A mustsee!

Complete Demo Reel:

Wednesday Dom's Videogame Improv Show at 9PM EST.

Dominic Cerquetti is a regular guest of SAGE and a man of many talents. Besides his nack for the most exquisite of fanfiction, he runs one of the most awesome conventions in the country (MAGFest), runs an entire Rock Opera production troupe, performs in the videogame cover band Rare Candy , is a prominent game developer who works for Big Huge Games and formerly Firaxis (boot up Civilation IV and look at the credits, he's for real), and is quite possibly the fastest keyboard shredder on the planet. He's even in a Daft Punk Cover Band, and is so important that something as simple as getting a haircut becomes an earthshattering event.

As you can tell Dom's a pretty busy guy, but he also is known for his ability to regurgitate pretty much any videogame song ever from memory, and thats what he'll be doing for us Wednesday at 9PM EST. Meet legend. Be in #sagexpo, tell him what to play, and he'll incorporate your tunes into his medley.

Oh, geez, I hadn't been checking properly until now, and I just noticed the former deadline - nearly gave me a heart attack, that did.

Anyways, looking at the iframe dimensions, I doubt the HTML5 canvas will be able to fit in that, I'm trying to replicate the DS dual-screen for my game, so it's 320x490. Better use a splash page, then.

Edit: SUB-MITTED!

Please tell me I'm not the only one that thinks this guy looks like the Cinema Snob.

On-topic, though, I'm looking forward to SAGE, this and the Hacking Contest are always good venues for playing interesting games, and seeing if a game you've been watching has improved since the last event.

EDIT: Good lord, my grammar is shit these days, huh?

To shed some light on the games, I'll be streaming them on Justin.tv (or Twitch.tv) and recording for Youtube. I'll be doing this for RAGE2011... if RAGE is done this year.

Looking forward to it, although I kinda wonder how the hell I'm gonna manage to shit something out while I have a 9-5 job on weekdays, but I'll see what I can do. Probably will have to hold off on that one idea I had kicking around in my head for later...

Play Madcap Grotto. It's my first level ever, but I can promise you that it isn't... horrible.

It was amazing, why didn't it make it into the Sonic World Level Collab?

Also, Sonic Mobius has incredibly busy graphics, I had trouble seeing what was going on at times.

When I tried to open it, I got a File Error! message. I'll try to redownload it. Looks fun though.

*EDIT* Nevermind

Awesome level! I love the art you used here!

Hnnnnnn... I was going to put it into Worlds Level Collab, but I didn't have it finished on time to make their date.
