I got the Sonic Advance 3 strategy guide through the mail today. Unfortunately I don't have access to a scanner at the moment - don't worry, this WILL be rectified. For now here are some crappy cam pics, but the names are still visible.

Also, for anyone who's interested, the official English spelling for Emerl's successor is G-merl. He is 110cm tall and weighs 110kg.

Finally we get an official confirm on his name. usually people have called him G-mel, Gemeral, or some other unofficial name. G-merl fits I like it.

Can't wait to see those scanned.

"G-merl" seems like the best transliteration from the Japanese, too.

The bosses, in order:
- G-merl & Egg Hammer 3
- Egg Ball No.2
- Egg "Futto" (I'm drawing a blank on what this means, but it's katakana so it's probably an English word Foot (I'm a dumbass)
- Egg Cube
- Egg Chaser
- Egg Pinball
- Egg Gravity
- G-merl
- Hyper Egg Robo
- Ultimate G-merl

EDIT: Heh. I just figured out those names are on the Wiki... except for the one I couldn't figure out.

Thanks Thunder!

Ultimate G-merl isn't on the wiki either (Nonaggression is just the stage name), so that's two new boss names.

I love how the bosses appearances are designed with 2D in mind it seems.

Amazing find. I Love the Sonic Advance series, and I've still got my boxed (and completed ;)) copies. They're second only to the Mega Drive classics. It's good to see this artwork, I much preferred this style, so seeing some 'new' stuff is always good.

I don't see how anyone would need a strategy guide for this game. I got through it just fine. However, that boss art is great and I didn't know it existed.

Didn't think they still go out and make art for enemies and bosses like this.

I can imagine that people needed help finding the Chao, but the game itself- easily do-able. It is, however, the hardest 2D Sonic game (non GameGear), especially when you have to team up with someone else- I played it the other day with my brother, didn't et a game over, but came very close. Got all the way through, and had a right pain with the Ice Boss, whereby I ended up holding him through the whole thing. Also had a pain with Chaos Angel's boss, because we both shared rings and had to avoid being hit, which generally loses you all of your rings on that boss.

Another thing is that on 2 player, the bosses movements don't syncronize on both players games, so you end up figthing two bosses- where I see Robotnik n my game is in a diferent place on the other players, but mine still gets hurt when I see the other player jump and hit nothing on my screen.

I'm pretty sure they just make strategy guides for everything.

I honestly think Sonic Advance 2 is the hardest 2D Sonic game, The 5th and 6th boss are really difficult (That fucking bitch slap of death, seriously), On top of that you have to fight them again in the XX Zone (Was really hoping Sonic Advance 3 was gonna have the XXX zone,,, didn't happen)

Also that SP Ring system was just awful DX

I loved the bosses is SAdv2, I thought it was rather refreshing as a one off idea for that game but yeah the bitch slap of death did piss me off. It was not needed and made that boss more difficult than it should have been. The Advance series as a whole did have some really rather good bosses.

Still not had access to a scanner yet. =\ Fortunately the Sonic Rush guide has the boss names in English as well as Japanese.

Leaf Storm - Egg Hammer Mega
Water Palace - Egg Turtle
Mirage Road - Egg Scarab
Night Carnival - Egg Libra
Huge Crisis - Egg Hammer Fortress (misspelled as Egg Hummer Fortress, the Japanese characters match up with the first boss)
Altitude Limit - Egg Eagle
Dead Line - Sonic/Blaze
Unknown - Egg King
Extra Zone - Egg Salamander (for Super Sonic) and Egg Salamander Nega (for Burning Blaze)

Okay, I can't tell what any of the images are so I have no context to go off, but here they are in English anyway:
- Egg Pawn (normal)
- Egg Pawn Manager (I think. Also I can't read kanji yet so I don't know what that one at the end is)
- Flapper
- Egg Pawn (Yari*)
- Egg Diver
- Kragen
- Egg Bishop
- Egg Hammer
- Egg Pawn Bunny
- Battle Flapper
- Gun Hunter
- Bomb Hawk
- Rhinos Bling (Okay, I'm almost positive this is wrong, but the quality of that scan + my eyesight + 2 AM = oh shit)
- Cannon Flapper
- Falco
- Egg Pawn Manager (SF-kanji that I can't read)
- Solid Pawn
- Laser Flapper
- Boss Enemy

* The yari might be the weapon it's carrying (it would really help if I could see what enemy I was talking about :P), but I'm unsure as to why it's spelled in katakana.

EDIT: I think the kanji is 鋭 (sharp).
