Hrm, dunno if I want. What about Pokemon Mystery Dungeon styled portraits?

Horridly unfinished but I hope it gets the point accross. Probably not; I can't work on it any more though :v:

Oh no, I think I get what you're saying there! I still dunno whether I want to put them in a sort of box like you said or leave them like that; I'l toy with it more once I finish up redoing and getting a few of them implemented ingame.

Hello! Sorry for the double post, but I just did a bunch of mapping work so I wanna show some random screens off.

None of these zones'll be in the DEMO but they had to be done sometime.
And yes, I'm working on the demo, which'll be the game's prologue and feature Green Hill stuff and a boss and all that. Just gotta iron out some RGSS script/event crap, set up a battle system and do a bunch of spriting and dialouging and we'll be good to go! Some actual content instead of screenshots will do wonders for making me feel productive.

P.S. Yeah, Sonic running in a few of the screenshots. Ingame, Sonci and co. can run as fast as RMXP will let me let you run when holding down the Z key. gotta go fast

Those screenshots look amazing. It's really cool to see classic stages from an isometric angle. Some of the copied art clashes a little bit with the Earthbound-esque art-style (for example, the CPU sign on the building), but that's a minor complaint.

Those look sweet. Can't wait to play them!

One thing though; that city above Metropolis Zone... Is that Star Light or Speed Highway with green? Or is it a slight mishmash of the two? :p

This looks great! I can't wait for the demo!

Also, for the character portraits, perhaps you could go with the ones from Sonic Battle and Sonic Chronicles? Those were done pretty well.

Yeah those Spring Yard letters do need to be fixed, don't they? I just need to stop being lazy and remake things instead of copypasting them :v
Also, this isn't too much of an update but I got messagebox portraits implemented.

Also redid the Sonic sprite; wanted to get some opinions on it before I start doing the rest of his expressions.

This looks fantastic, and the concept of two opposite worlds is very Final Fantasy-esque. I love where you're going with this and I can't wait to see more. :)

They're called busts. You're henceforth obligated to use the term bust. Because... busts.

I.e.
"did axel get a new bust in Disgaea 2 DLC?".
"Japanese games traditionally still use busts to this day to convey story"
"Generations 3DS uses busts lol"

New portrai- *cough* ahem... bust looks pretty good actually. I really like it :)

That said, when do you think you're going to be ready to release a demo? I'm really looking forward to playing this.

I'm going to try to get one out by the new year. Hopefully I can actually stick to a goal this time :v

Also while I'm here:

And thus this game is now complete. Or rather, when it's finished it'll actually be finished and not missing something.

So hrm, how are you going to work out the fight systems? Or is that under wraps as of now?

I can get behind this. I read those MS Paint Adventures and loved the crap out of it.
