Eh, not expecting anything besides levels from the original trio, Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, and MAYBE Sonic Heroes. Everything else will most likely be a big fat noooooooo.

I'm thinking the same thing. Sonic 1, 2, 3 & Knuckles, Adventure, and Adventure 2 sounds about right to me.

It would be funny if Classic Sonic did this again.

Trailer looks nice. Glad that people are getting what they want, and I'll be happy so long as I can avoid those cold, dead, soulless black eyes. Will hopefully be something for everyone.

They could always give classic Sonic the grayish irises he had in Sonic 3&K, I mean, I think those are gray irises.

my faith has been restored.

I feel like they should treat the two as separate characters now. like alternate dimensions:?

Nah, that's just antialiasing.

A Sonic CD level or two isn't THAT out of line, to be honest. I wouldn't place too much money on it, but it'd be nice alongside the rest of the levels. How they play out going from level to level I'd really like to see, however. Hopefully something a little more enduring than a simple menu screen. I don't want this game to have a ridiculously convulted plot or something stupid, but I'd like some sort of reason why you're going from level to level, even if it's just a map screen or something like that.

They're just pixels used for anti aliasing.

If anything from CD is going to get love, it had better be Stardust Speedway.

Their best case sounds interest, but their worst case just sounds worth it for the hilarity alone. Throw in some awful physics, terribly broken collision, and a stupid control scheme, and it'll be complete.

I loved seeing this. Bravo Sega, that was totally worth the announcement for an announcement.

Only real concern so far is that it might play too much like Colors, with 3D sections too limited and restrictive (See video: Modern Sonic drifts and slides, but he doesn't seem to spin on the ground).

I hope that's just me reading too far into a trailer made to look good though. Maybe the presence of Classic Sonic means we even get options as to how we want to play the levels.

Now I've got over the hype of seeing Classic Sonic back, I too am asking myself how this is going to play. If it's another one of those linear, boosting shitfests then I think I'd rather play a game of soggy biscuits and watch Youtube videos of the game instead.

Refined, Adventure 1 style gameplay would make me happy.

Here's all the information I can actually share from sources. Obviously since I can't cite them, you can either take it or leave it, but if you know me, you know I have some legit contacts and know what I'm talking about.

It's going to include remade levels from each major sonic game. With several alternative costumes.

Again, take it or leave it, but it's a reliable source.

I can also verify this information. I also cannot reveal my source.

Where's the Wii version? I got to the end of the video and it had the stuff for the 360 and the PS3, but nothing for the Wii.
Did Sega forget where sonic sells the best again?

I think they remembered where the older fans are to be honest.

The problem with that is that it will just be fuel to the fire that is the Modern vs Classic Sonic debate, and we really don't want that... right?

The only bitterness in all of this. I love classic Sonic over modern Sonic but this fanserivce is shaping up to be another Eggman / Robotnik thing down the road. Even if both names are used, fickle debates for the abolishing of one another still arise every now and then, and I've seen similar arguments made about the models already. If this is going to fuel stupid discussions, I'd rather not have this fanservice. It is much wanted but definitely not worth the hassle.

Anyway, pick one/two levels for each main game that I'd like to see.
Sonic 1: Starlight or Scrap Brain
Sonic 2: Chemical Plant or Oil Ocean
Sonic CD: Collision Chaos or Stardust Speedway
Sonic 3: Hydrocity or Launch Base
Sonic & Knuckles: Mushroom Hill or Sky Sanctuary
Sonic Adventure: Red Mountain or Sky Deck (this game is hard for me to pick one)
Sonic Adventure 2: Final Rush/Chase
Sonic Heroes: Creepy Castle and its sibling Mystic Mansion

I find the exclusion of the Wii odd. It's where the game would sell the most. Why not make a port?

Costumes? I'm already expecting classic Eggman to make an appearance so... classic Amy... ohdear.png

I have to post this here since we might see both Robotniks in this game.

No idea who the artist is though, friend linked me to it.
