I know what they are. They're cluttering up the design. Though that's just my opinion.

As a rule of the thumb put more details where you want and expect people to look more

Updated the first post with a small and temporary FAQ.
When I went there to edit the title of the thread, the bbcode got fucked up for some reason and I'm too lazy to fix it. But also it was full of old pieces.
So a little FAQ will do the trick until we have something more consistant to show.
Also, Aerosol, they're were meant to be small and soft details, I guss I made them a bit too dark so I get your point. Thanks for the imput.

The socks are the best part!
I like where this is going, P3DR0. Kudos for aiming for the classic personality.

I second that, this redesign is full of squees. She looks so cute and lovable here. I don't think I've seen anybody else try more to give her dress a little flare, while also keeping it modest; the colors work wonderfully together. The socks can't be missed either, I don't feel it clashes with the rest of the color scheme.

Hmm. I do like the idea of the design, and I like the art, but I think for the style you seem to be going in with the model and all it clashes. I did a quick drawing based on it, I hope you don't take offense:

It's still the same design, mostly, just-
- Upped the spikes a bit. Makes it look more Hedgehog, fits better with the OVA look, acts as a call to the spiked-hair peppy girl archetype of 80's anime and to the infamous Sonic CD artwork of Amy.
- Simplified spikes in forehead
- Joined eyes. Please don't fall into the "Animals aren't cyclops, hedgehogs can't have joined eyes!" trap, it's a cartoon, it looks good.
- Removed shoulder rings, it just looked like clutter.
- Bigger button. That kind of cute design quirk needs to be overstated, not understated.
- Removed prayer-bead-charms. Alternatively they could instead be made larger, but I think it'd again fall into clutter.
- Simplified/geometrized skirt
- Leggings instead of shorts. Completely personal preference here, prefer leggings to bike shorts.
- Bigger shoelaces and overall changing proportions to the Classic 2-heads-and-a-half
Just my two cents, really.

I donno, I'm actually cool with P3DR0's version, it's rather unique. Not that I don't agree with the whole clashing scenario mind, you bring up some good points, such as the height and size of the character in perspective.

I think P3DRO's version looks fine. The KKM's version looks far too cutesy.

The drawing is adorable, but there's no need for perfectionism here. I think this goes beyond constructive criticism, as a lot of these details are subject to opinion as much as the design itself is, being a different take on the Amy we all know from official Sonic media.
And to be honest, even if a marketing group were handed this design, I imagine the smaller details would get stripped down or emphasized by changes in proportion, (I'm guessing this is the clutter Aerosol and KKM are referring too?) since the little things usually disappear from a distance in lower-res 3D, or no room can be made for it in 2D sprites. Nothing else about it seems objectively undesirable to warrant more changes.
Whether things like the socks or beads can be made visible in the actual fan game is yet to be seen, but nitpicking over the smaller details in the art itself seems like a waste of time to me, and defeats the whole point of re-imagining modern Amy with a few well-appreciated nods to Rosy the Rascal.
EDIT : Typo'd, oops

That is adorable, KKM.
And I do get your criticism in here. But so we're on the same page, the Amy drawing is more of a concept art than a blueprint for the 3D model. When we start her on 3D, changes will be made, including proportions and stuff like that. I actually loved some of the changes you did.
Tha "modern" aspect of our drawing was just an artstyle we're more confortably drawing, even though we're more classic than modern fans. It's like those boxarts for classic Sonic games, where Sonic looks way different than he looks ingame.
Anyways, adorable artwork, dude. <3

NP. I genuinely did like the design, which is why I tried to just clean it up a bit and cutesy it a bit since I find the characters were quite cute in the OVA :P Are there plans to redesign everyone else?

Amy's revamped is so freaking awesome and cute. It's almost like an in-between phase between her classic and Adventure 1 counterparts. ^_^
For some reason I keep imagining her using the Sonic doll to whack things instead of a giant hammer.
