Oh, so we can like post anything project-related we're working on, that isn't necessarily related to engineering/reverse engineering? Or wait, maybe what I'm thinking of is technically engineering. I dunno, but whatever, here's a little something.
(from my project, EtG)
I started with just trying to use light green to dark green gradients on tall pyramids and just cover one of the platforms in that, but it ended up looking ugly, resembling the bottom of a studded shoe, and using way too many polys (about 40x30, 5 polys each, which means 6k polys per platform, not including the other one, and the ground below it). So I scrapped that idea and tried just recreating the sides of the platforms from the original stage with Gimp, UV mapped it to the sides, and just put whatever I thought would fit on the top and the bottom of each platform.
So I guess, should I still try to make it look like there's grass on top of it, growing up, etc.?
The original definitely looked like it, although it was probably much easier, being 2D and all :P
Edit: *noticed lack of replies after 3 days*
it's 'K, I can take a hint, I'll do more work on it so you guys have more to criticize about it. :-I'm stupid-D
