Do you think that'll be how it works now? The SatAM stories are melded into the Mega Drive games and the AoStH stories are melded into the Master System games?

I honestly bet it'll be on a case by case basis. For example, Tails Adventure was combined with SatAM elements (although that was the old continuity). Some things may not even be referenced, and things like Sonic 1 Genesis and Sonic 1 SMS may just be combined into the same arc. Sonic 2 and AoSTH kind of makes sense in a way, since it's a Sonic and Tails adventure and honestly the Underground zone kind of works as an AoSTH environment. That and it fits perfectly in a way because Robotnik only actually fights Sonic once in Sonic 2 SMS, so having Scratch, Grounder, and Coconuts out there goes nicely with that.

It's all really hard to tell at this point. As by new continuity standards, the old continuity, Genesis Wave 1, and Genesis Wave 2 don't exist in the normal world, and Eggman just kinda blew up the universe at the end of Wave 2. All we know is that the new continuity is some kind of odd cross section between AoSTH, SatAM, Game Sonic, and very selectively old Archie Sonic. The old game adaption issues are no longer canon either, so it leaves room for Ian to rewrite those if he so chooses (I think old Archie Sonic covered Sonic 3K, Sonic Triple Trouble, Sonic Spinball, Sonic CD, Sonic 3D Blast, and Sonic Adventure 1 and 2, and Sonic Rush as in continuity plots. Everything after Rush was basically "In another time" stuff... but then the multiverse collapsed so I guess those were wiped out too...

Fuck this hard reset is so confusing sometimes. All I know is I want to see a Sonic Universe arc cover Sonic 3 and Knuckles that would include Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, classic Robotnik, Snively, Scratch, Grounder, and Coconuts.

Sure, but by then the beginning character moments of Sonic feeling responsible for Chip's amnesia, Chip attaching to him since he's the first person he saw, Sonic naming Chip after Chip's love for a local icecream (representing a first step into Chip's love for the Earth's cultures, not just gluttony. Fuck him remembering chocolate chip cookies out of nowhere) are all gone.

Not to mention having Tikal spill the beans already that Chip is Light Gaia. Kinda ruining Chip's arc there.

And Ian'll get praised for it while people complain SEGA don't let Sonic have character moments.

So it's a different interpretation of Unleashed's story. Why is it a problem here when it's established from the start that the comic's story is not 100% the same as in the games ? (Snively in S3K, Spinball levels being used as practice rooms, S2GG with new characters, Relic being on Angel Island, the whole fish people...) Neither of us know how it will develop.

People appreciating Ian's version of the story isn't a problem, Mauro. They want to praise it ? Fine. You hate it ? Fine. You belittling them because you don't like what they like ? That's not fine.
You have an opinion and I respect it, and I expect you to respect mine. But you're coming off as a broken record, posting your opinion on many forums, especially when someone dares to like the Unleashed saga. You've discussed it for pages, it's fine, we got your point. But we don't have to agree with you. You're not the voice of the Sonic Community.

No, I think Ian is trying to tie most of Sonic media into one coherent thing.

He would if hes allowed, remember that SEGA is like an overbearing mother on this comic book and has mandated the shit out of it since Pender's departure.

I think they have said numerous times that they would like to make STC Sonic another universe but they are restricted to.

Hence references, like Amy 'having an engineering friend in the Battle Kukku Armada" for Tekno, or a super badnik having a "short fuse" and getting drawn away easily by distractions. That sort of thing.

Darnit! Now you've got me wanting to see the Armada again!

I really do wish Ian could write for the games. I'd love to go up against the Kukkus in a modern Sonic game, or have the Hooligans show up as antagonists.

There's so much potential the series could have if Sega actually gave a crap about it.

It's not like they've not done it before, either, even more blatantly than that....

Exactly. A few references here and there, maybe have Tekno actually cameo among the Kukkus, nothing too explicit but just little nods to the comic's cousin across the pond.

I'm sure Ian said they can't legally do that. The guy who created "The Metallix" said Ian was more than welcome to use them in the comic, but their'd be way too much red tape to jump through to be worth it.

Also, thought I'd mention that in a recent podcast he was on, Ian clarified that the gang on the X side of things are from between X7 and X8.

I really like the poster, and most of the covers are looking great. But that #4 variant of MegaMan #50... that's just completely awful.

THIS. How the hell did that get approved? The city's just about the only good thing on there.

I don't know what's worse, though: Nightmare corpse Xander Payne, or whatever the hell Quake Woman's face is.

Kinda off topic, but are there trades for the Mega Man series? I kinda want to start reading it.

Yep. They collect up to #36 so far (the 37 to 40 one is coming in May), excluding the Worlds Collide issues, which are off in their own books. They're up on Archie's store here:
http://archiecomics..../memangrno.html

You can find some of them a bit cheaper on Amazon, though, and Amazon even has the slower free shipping for larger orders, if you prefer that to save some cash.
