==Sonic 3 bug number 0005==

After the Knuckles' bomb demo, the bottom of the screen is locked, and Sonic can choose to run to the left and die, or to the right to get into the box hall. Sonic will run into the box hall and meet Eggman, waiting to leave the middle box with the mini boss wrapped inside. It doesn't matter if Sonic or Tails is running towards Eggman. He will be activated anyway to prevent another 255 hit bug :P

Bug 0005 description:
Don't run into the box hall completely with Sonic. Leave him at a place where you still can see the background. Now, kill the mini boss with Tails without moving Sonic, and the act switch will be obvious for the first and only time (You can actually see the act switch in MHZ1 too if you're very fast with Hyper Sonic, but you won't see it so obvious like this one).

Bug 0005 was never fixed!

Wow. I always knew S3(&K) was buggy, but...wow! Ya know, all these "Sonic 3 bug" topics should be merged and archived. :D

Yea. They should. I've worked this whole day capturing bugs from S3&K <.<;;

This is why I don't like the S3 engine. S2 is better.

You mean the background? It's just slow because it must decompress the art at runtime.

If you're talking about Super Sonic, he's just buggy when you use debug.

Oh, an addition to this bug: If playing as Tails, go Super as soon as you see a few pixels of Robotnik while still outside the building. The Flickies will attack Robotnik, who puts up the box and out comes the mini-boss. Leave the Flickies to beat the mini-boss, and then you'll see the background switch.
