@ Barry the Nomad : You could probably provide some scans of the boxart and storyware for segaretro. Scans for the US games are still lacking.
Also could you share where do you buy Pico games cheap? I'd be interested on buying some myself.

On another note, could someone please reupload the pack that was on mega from the last page Post #194, since it's no longer available.

Thanks

Requesting that same pack from #194.

I noticed Team Europe have/had a Pri Fun (the printer for the Pico (and Saturn)). I ran into some photos they put up in 2012, but some of the links have started to die and scans would be better.

Do we have scans? Or I guess more specifically, does SS have scans, because it would be silly for Sega Retro to request things and be delivered them twice.

Attached is the archived torrent file. Just make sure you have DHT enabled before you load the file and all should be good. Let me know otherwise. :)

A torrent for the current archive of Pico scans (Storybooks, manuals, other bonus material)

Once I get to cleaning out my HDD I'll try seeding this.

I'll dig around torrents for whatever specific ROMs were requested.

Oh, this is incredibly useful. One of the problems I have keeping track of these releases is that they are so randomly named and often they include fills for older dumps.
One big problem though - the folder naming scheme was changed around, so I can't use this to fill in whatever I'm missing, or even check what I'm missing. So you'd definitely need something like a DAT file (and possibly, torrentzipped archives) of this pack.

I will try to help with the naming scheme if that helps.

Do mind, some of the books may have multiple ROMs associated with them since Sega Pico did do ROM revisions and whatnot.

Also, since this was posted from the No-Intro boards, it most likely uses the most current No-Intro naming scheme.

I paid about 130Euros for these four games, so I have again to ask for some donations before I can release the roms. I think 60euro's will be fair, so if the 60euros get donated I will release the roms.

btw. I would also need someone who can render the gametitles to Romanji for me, thanks!

Did anyone else ever analyze these properly...?

Nice work by everyone involved.

How many more Pico games realistically are left?

Realistically, only a handful—right now we're probably 6 or less off from the Team Europe releases in terms of articles, so anything left in red here (give or take a half-dozen or so) is remaining. Note that this doesn't include language variants and the like, though.

I don't know if Team Europe has tracked down all of the South Korean exclusives... although in fairness they might struggle to do that on account that nobody knows how many South Korean exclusives are out there.

I would also like to note that ROM dumps may not necessarily mean all the data required to play these is obtained. A few of these may be lacking storyware scans or scans of the tablet surface that they were packed with. (Also, much of the fact that these are so little documented in regards to gameplay even on the respective Wiki articles is because of crappy emulation leading things to be more difficult to do than intended, or not working.)

There's also the rather ambiguous other "Asia" region Pico game that was discussed earlier. And while maybe getting all that would account for the original Pico hardware, there's ALSO the spinoff stuff (PasoPico, I think especially, should be better documented. We only have a demo of one game? Yeah.. and these are PC releases, too, so anyone could probably do this if willing to take the effort), and Samsung's Thinko and the Beena, which aren't even touched yet.
And who knows? We may find more unreleased game prototypes. I take it there wouldn't be the same kind of clamour for "Sonic Jr." as there is for a... more Xtreme game, but it'd be interesting to see what surfaces.

Oh lord, speaking of Storyware--does anyone know of an accurate automatic whitespace cropper? The lack of uniform cropping on Storyware scans is 99% of why they aren't listed on the wiki as the "cart."

I didn't even know this was a thing until right now. But is it in the scope of Sega Retro?

The other issue with the cartridges/storyware is something I brought up a few years ago - cartridge colours. I still don't know if they're meant to indicate something or (in North America particularly) they were manufactured at random. Last time I looked I couldn't find a pattern (note: the colours in the table are wrong as purple does exist).
