You can turn off sound effects if it's bugging you :P

Also, I added an option for Sonic to use randomized controls instead of listening to the keyboard. So now you can just have him run around randomly.

This...is...

AWESOME.

So much win. :D

Sonic jumps every time I hit space while typing here!!!

It would be even more epic if Sonic could interact with the Sonic Retro site in some way...but its still awesome nonetheless!

EDIT: Crap I threw sonic too far up... and now I can't see him?!

Alright if you can add in any more moves, how about you try to put in the Insta-shield? Also, a skin for Tails with flying ability and a skin for Knuckles with Gliding and Climbing would be pretty sweet too!

This is one of the greatest things ever, by the way.

Insta-shield is useless if there's nothing to attack. v.png
I was considering adding Tails' and Knuckles' special abilities, but then I'd have to implement the physics for them and I'd have to set up the animations for the characters.

No waiting pose because I couldn't quite figure out what order the sprites go in :S. They aren't stored together at all.

And I'm torn between trying to implement this stuff and trying to implement objects, so you can put springs and monitors etc.

Do whatever you want.

Beggers can't be choosers. :P

EDIT: Oh and the "pause" feature is VERY handy when it comes to doing other things...

Because Sonic 3's sprites are hideous.

(All sprites replaced with Sonic 1 ones.)

I must say though, this is pretty cool.

I know you already said no, but if you added Tails and Knuckles I'd love you :3
This is pretty cool. Pretty useless, but pretty cool. I also love how every time I hit space while writing this message Sonic jumps about like crazy.

P.P.A.: You could have just uploaded an INI and sprite folder instead of uploading a whole copy of the program.

By "locks out control", do you mean that Sonic doesn't respond or that you can't do anything else while it's running?

And what do you mean by horizontal lines?

Can't do anything else while running. Sonic responds fine. If it matters, I'm running WinXP SP3.

And if you click on something, it doesn't work? That is really weird.
Hang on a second, I've recorded it to show you to be sure we understand one-another. Blue annotations are Sonic. Important stuff is in white. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01TWBLTuVUA

By horizontal lines, I mean well, Sonic being able to run on the divisions between posts on this board or maybe even shit like this:

______________

No.
That's cool. This is your thing, not mine. As you were.

To be honest I just looked and this doesn't look hard to modify AT ALL.

Each sprite has a different named picture in a folder of the characters name.

The ini folder has all the gravity and physics values and boundaries.

So all MainMemory has to do is add an option to select a character ini via browse, and that should work!

We can do the rest!!

Right-click the little sonic head next to your clock. Click "load player". Boom.

Well, that is definitely not normal... The BG is transparent though, so it should pass the clicks through to the windows behind it. Hmm...

RGamer2009: Try "Load Player..." :P
I made this purposefully easy to modify.

Good point, my bad.

http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/8/26/138...0CD%20PRYDE.rar

(I did figure that I was supposed to have them a different name and use "load player" on them but it didn't work when I tried naming both the folder and ini file "sonic1" each...)
