I've recently reinstalled Sonic CD with the patch found on Sonic Cult, however, I do seem to have some issues that are not addressed in the FAQ. What happens: The game doesn't run. That is unless every time I click the menu/top bar, which seems to make it go ahead exactly 1 frame. The odd thing is that the game actually IS running. The sounds react to when I press a button.
Oh, by the way, the Sonic CD video works PERFECTLY. Any of you great people got a solution?

You could always play Sonic CD on an emulator and skip the problem altogether.
Otherwise, I wouldn't exactly know how to solve this myself. I did see a screenshot of the PC version, though. What if you tried playing it in a different resolution? Sometimes games function differently if you play them in a larger window or fullscreen.
Still looking for solutions for you, though. (P.S. Do NOT look for info in the Sonic Kingdom site; you'll get six viruses, LOL!)

Yeah, just play the original in an emulator. You get:
- No bugs whatsoever and full compatibility with modern OSes.
- Better sound and graphics (scanlines, scaling filters, etc).
- Save states.

I'm going to go with playing the original version in an emulator.
Better soundtrack, filters, and fullscreen are nice.

Yeah, emulator's your best bet. I've personally never been able to get used to them, but I can confirm they're smooth in terms of bugs and compatibility, a lot of flexibility too.

That's weird, I had the same problem with GENS on Haiku OS/.
