I think it's just an episode (or more) of Underground lumped in with the special so that there's more content on the DVD.

What's really odd about the Christmas Blast episode is that Sally appears in it. One of the things Sonic has to do during the episode is get Sally presents. She doesn't say anything, other than a grunt. What's really odd about her appearance is, she has the normal Sally style, but uses the old pink coloring that was retconned a few years prior.
This episode, IIRC, came out after AoSTH ended, hence why the art style is more like that of Sonic Underground.

I thought the same thing when I saw her in the episode, on that note sonics a bit of a dick to her in that one.

In Sally's defence, she doesn't really 'do' anything reaction wise. She just sits, gets presents dumped on her, sits there motionless while Sonic kisses her, and he runs off.

A world where Retro has the Bulgarian version of this cover and not the American one is tragic.
Any chance you could scan the full cover?

Man, I saw the name of this topic and thought,
"Oh boy, A Sonic Christmas Blast, like the Christmas NiGHTS? Sign me up!
"
This was rather disappointing in comparison. However, it does give me an urge to check out Sears now.

From the wiki (Sonic Christmas Blast):
I remember watching it on Toon Disney as a kind somewhere around 97 or 98, when they re-aired it for a few years during Christmas time.
QUOTE
It aired on the USA Network in 1996, nearly three years after the original series had been cancelled.

I remember seeing this. Wasn't this the episode where Robotnik dresses as Santa and he's like "MORE CHIMNEYS, MOOOOOOOOOOORE."

Man, a Christmas themed Sonic game? Now that's a cow Sega shockingly has yet to milk.

They came close. Actually, it wasn't really milking, because they gave it away for free.
