From the NL website:
http://www.segaonline.nl/blog/2009/04/28/s...teit-naar-xbla/
So S&K is coming to XBLA (who woulda thunk) and if you own xbla Sonic 1,2 or 3 you can lock them onto S&K.
Damn sega, you know how to make me buy your game's. I have to rebuy S1 because it was on an old account which MS locked because of my credit card, faggots.

I guess this definitely explains why the lock-on games weren't included in the so-called "Ultimate" Genesis Collection.

Fucking genius marketing scheme, and one that's not meant to rip you off.

So... how 'bout that lock-on on the Virtual Console? No dice? Rats.

Finally, Sega realised how important lock on technology is to us fans. I hope they have S3&K achievements as well. Hell, I even want blue sphere achievements, that would be awesome as I love the Sonic 3 Special Stages. I think that on top of the 200G they should add 50G extra for each lock on game for a total of 350G. That way we could have achievements like "Get to level X in Blue Sphere". (Does anyone know the maximum allowed gamerscore for an XBLA game as opposed to a Retail game? [which I gather is 1750])

Clear a level 13 difficulty Special Stage with a perfect.
It's not as hard as it sounds, and the victory screen is pretty neat looking.

It would be nice if a few of the 12 S&K achievements were dedicated to lock on's with sonic 2 and 3, like complete S2 with knuckles, complete S3&k, maybe with all emeralds too but that might be too hard core after seeing the S3 achievement list.

How do the prices on the Virtual Console compare to that of Mega Collection? Seems to me since the thing's fully backward-compatible with the GC that would have been the choice to take.

Oh, certainly. Mega Collection may not have as good emulation (the audio sucks) but it's MUCH more reasonable to spend $20 on 10 games than $32 on four games. However, it's not as easy to find the Gamecube games in brick-and-mortar stores. Amazon and eBay are another story.

You would be amazed. I found Mega Collection Plus at a Future Shop a few months ago.
Well, it's darn nice to hear they're decided to finally implement the lock-on feature on something lately. Now, as mentioned above, all they need to do is do it for the Virtual Console.

Wrong. Retail games are 2000 (more with download content) and XBLA games are a maximum of 200.

Now, what REALLY would've been intense would be if they actually made Sonic 1 & Knuckles. Like, actual Sonic 1 with Knuckles in it.
But this is nice too,

Well, until then, we have Stealth to thank:

They probably could have got away with sticking that in a wrapper; since making it required "pirating" Sonic 1, Stealth wouldn't have any room to sue for the theft.
It'd be kind of scummy, but this is Sega here.
