Bog off, naysayers! Shadow's an awesome representation of the youth of today - stripped of identity and disillusioned, forever trying to carve some fashion of identity and individuality, yet constantly haunted by the glaring reminder that you are just like everyone else around you. Wouldn't you be resentful if you knew you were no different to your peers yet can't shake the feeling that you should be capable of so much more?

So everyone in this day and age is emo and wants to cut themselves.

This. Shadow is the character I like less, because of that emo and angst shit.

All things considered, the emo died out with Sonic Adventure 2 to be replaced with boring old amnesia. The wangst more or less died out with his titular game leaving him as a mostly indifferent secret agent man. Since then nothing.

Shadow should be recast into an insane communist to Sonic's capitalist. He already has the color scheme down pat.

Hm, I just realized... all the cool characters these days either seem to feature a red and blue or red and black colorscheme, and usually, a bigger part cannot understand how the red and black character would be liked over the red and blue one... examples for 'em red and black dudes? 8D

Isn't Robotnik already filling that role?

No, Robotnik is much more of a Benito Mussolini figure. Sure, he has the same color scheme, but he's too quirky and lacks that charming Comrade quality that could really make Shadow a commie badass.

Seriously. Shadow as a Russian? Everyone would love him.

As strange as it may seem, I like Shadow as he's portrayed in the Sonic the Hedgehog Archie comics series. He ends up teleporting to Anti-Mobius or Moebius as it is now called (in case you missed the difference, it has an E in its name.) by mistake. He appeared right in front of Scourge and Sonic during their fight. Then he asks a series of questions to Sonic and after Sonic answers them and such Sonic asks Shadow "Wanna help beat him up?" then Shadow says "Sure." I got some lulz out of that whole bit it. That was both bad ass and funny at the same time.
