Link doesn't work for me. I can get to the media fire page, but after I click download, I get a 404.

Try the link in the first post then, I updated it.
As for the latest build, I like it. I'm playing these when he releases them, along with the rest of you, and this is great. I'd love an actual "level" to run around in, and to be able to play with my Gravis, but yeah, we'll get to that when it comes. The shield powers work well IMO, and I don't see any problems with the light dash.
In case anyone hasn't tried it yet, the gold shield gives Sonic the Homing Attack (like in Sonic 3D), and the others work as they did in S3&K. As for Metal, his projectile changes for each. Lightning - He fires four diagonal shots; Fire - He fires a spread of three shots; Water - He unleashes a water pulse; Gold - He fires to star shaped shots that home in on enemies. Unfortunately there's not any enemies yet to test it on. You can control the trajectory of some of these by using the arrow keys.

You guys realize we're in 2009 now, right?
Anyway, keep working on it.

Get what fixed? ... It's a debug message, and a funny one at that.
If you mean how fast the player's able to move, I guess I'll put in a speed limiter eventually.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the feedback.
If anyone's interested, we're still looking for a few more level artists. Right now we're working on some mock screen shots between now and March 8th, and from there we'll start discussing things like color scheme, shading style, tile layouts, etc. We still don't quite have the help we need though, so yeah, if anyone's got some time on their hands, please let us know.

Trust me when I say this...I am NO ARTIST. I draw fucking stick people with three fingers and flat feet. I MIGHT, however, try to get some artists on my watchlist to contribute if they're willing. I'll talk to them about this. As far as me trying out the latest engine build, the controls work great. Personally, I think they're a little more solid if you move them to , . and right shift, but they're good anyway. Lesee...Metal Sonic needs more sprites, the shields need to actually do something, and Sonic's sprites are so cool I shat myself looking at them. ^_^ The engine's turning out very good, and I see...LOADS of potential in this one. It's very original and retro at the same time. However, I can't give any reliable opinion without seeing like two complete zones and using the controls to pass them, so I'm waiting for that to happen. Keep it up, guys.
