It's just that in my opinion a project leader must do something for the project. Actual work, not concept. I don't like the fact that, from a day to another, a new leader appear out of nowhere, without ever doing anything for the project, and starts commanding everyone.
The difference with Chimpo is that he is doing a lot for the project, and he did a lot before becoming a leader, unlike Veemon.

On the topic of the Outrun stage, I'm possibly the only one who doesn't agree very much. Where's the intoxicating effect? When you step into a special stage in any of the Sonic games, it was like being high. Now it's just a road. That's pretty lame.
But perhaps it's because I never played Outrun, right?

Veemon may not be an artist, musician or programmer, but she did approached me about the project with full intent to help me out in anyway she could. Her original job was just to get the basic story set up, however she pitched a lot of ideas about the game that were similar to my own.

Because we had similar visions for the project and because she is quite active in helping me out is why I gave her the position that she has now. I left her in charge to lead these discussions and sniff through the post and report back to me anything big or interesting that I can't spot because I'm busying doing other work.

Really though, watch what you say because it sounded like you were basically me accusing me of stealing your idea. You were no doubt going to get some knee-jerk reaction. Luckily I finished masturbating when I made my post so I didn't have Rick Rage.

I'll try to tone down my "IN YOUR FACE" attitude a bit and tell Veemon to do the same, but I expect you all show the same respect to her as you do to me from now on.

The pitch originally was something that feels like Outrun. The entire world will be remodeled to something as surreal as Sonic games like Sonic R or Sonic 2's special stage.

I don't think the IN YO FACE attitude is much of a problem Chimpo. Most of us are mature enough see that your tirades are usually well-meaning and justified.

As for the special stage, I also agree that the Outrun-style race is an attractive concept. Also, for those that are saying that it's too realistic...well. I was under the assumption that it was the gameplay concept that was being suggested, not the aesthetics. There's no reason at all that we can't have an Outrun race in space, is there?

Furthermore, I don't think that the Outrun races should be like a mini-outrun game. What I mean by that is I don't think different paths should lead to different emeralds. Rather, I think each entry into the Special Zone should transport you to a different track.

I would also like to address the question of whether or not Robotnik would, or should be present in a special stage. Sonic 2's special stages included bombs. Very mechanical looking bombs. Who's to say that Robotnik didn't put them there? Same argument applies to the Sonic CD special stages. What I'm really trying to say here is that we shouldn't rule out a physical race against one of Robotnik's creations. It's an interesting idea, and I'd like to think that, at this stage where special stages aren't a priority, options are being kept open.

I apologize for my hard-to-follow thoughts. Just my two pennies worth.

A small concept, but since the characters all handle differently we should let them have different special stages... I personally like the 3D Sonic 2/3d/Chaotix type stage for Sonic.

I like the idea of a race but I pictured something a little different. I picture a race against a botnik or metal sonic but in the play style like sonic 3 multi player racing.

So I imagined the screen spit in 2 with npc on the bottom and player on the top and they just raced in a map that is 3 times bigger then one ones used in sonic 3. At the end you can have the emerald there.

Making a totally new special stage sounds pretty hard.

muteki had a pretty good idea with the bosses being stronger.

Why not? Robotnik has made it pretty clear that he can hold his own in a race against Sonic.
