If there is any music in Sonic 3 that we can say was made by the MJ team with 99% accuracy, it is the middle boss theme. But who did it?

We'll never know, but it is fun to compare against other MJ songs and see if there is a remote connection. Okay, this is probably old but some people might have missed it so here we go:

I am talking about the keyboard sequence of course. Yea it is simular, still a composer signature though. Looking at the credits for Black Or White, and you can see Brad Buxer did most of the stuff:
Percussion: Brad Buxer and Bill Bottrell
Keyboards: Brad Buxer, John Barnes and Jason Martz

He is ranked first in the credits for both Black Or White, and the music composer credits for Sonic 3.

Do you think I am right, or wrong? I think I am right. Discuss please :P

A few months ago I listened to Michael Jackson's "Ghosts", which did have a similar beat to Sonic 3's miniboss and Knuckles' theme. I would later listen to one of those comparison mixes, although the author did it to Knux's tune, you could compare it to the miniboss as well.

Yea I saw that on Youtube. Brad Buxed did the keyboard arrangements for Ghosts too.

If youve looked on youtube though, you'll see that alot of MJ songs have been overlayed with the knux beat. (In The Closet is another one I can think of off the top of my head)

Those comparisons alone are meaningless, since that beat was a staple of the musical era that MJ bandwagoned onto, as with the various sound bytes.

However, Blood On The Dancefloor actually seems to sample the knuckles beat in the song, so either it was some stock beat they just threw in Sonic 3 as a placeholder or who knows what else. ( 1:33). Was that arranged by Buxer too perchance?

That IS the Knuckles beat! Seriously the coolest thing I have ever heard in MJ music. At 1:38 into the song. And we should know who composed the S3 middle boss music by now:

You know it would have been cool to have Blood on the Dance Floor in Sandopolis Act 2 because of that sample at the end of the main beat sounding like the "ghost showing up" sfx.

If the interview was led in Japanese, it's pretty much a given that they called him Naka-san. Since he's not a child (Naka-chan), a friend (Naka-kun), an important personality (Naka-sama). He's just Mr. Naka.

I'm surprised you brought this up, because I thought you saw my post with the middle boss/knuckles theme using samples from stuff done by Brad Buxer. :P

Also to add more to this topic, in case no one saw my other post, but the middle boss theme takes a little bit from "It Takes 2" by DJ EZ Rock and Rob Base (something on a MTV Raps! album). Not that it uses the actual recorded samples from the song, but they try to mimic it. It isn't an uncommon sample to use either. But the "come ons" and the "hoos" are not done by anyone I've heard before.

It would make sense too, since I guess the Character Designers always wanted to have Knuckles under hip hop influence. :P
