W-what. The guy behind the name "Ivo Robotnik" is ACTUALLY posting on these forums right now.

Goddamn, this is pretty cool.

EDIT: HOLY SHIT HE NAMED QUACKSHOT TOO. THAT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE GENESIS GAMES EVER.

Dean, holy shit man. Welcome.

I'm sorry, but this was posted on 4chan.

4chan.

Yeah, what about it?

I'm a full-time visitor of 4chan, and it's not the stupid place you think it is. At least not /v/, the section I'm a regular on.

People have this image that 4chan is filled with 14 year old stupid kids that don't do anything productive.

This image only applies to "/b/tards", the scum of the internet.

tl;dr 4chan != /b/

I'm one of the biggest chantards I know, which is why I really feel that you cannot trust it for real information. =P

In the mighty words of Neogaf, It is the time to devour Crows.

Or something to that effect.

I'm not sure what to think of this Wentos guy. He speaks like a regular guy, and that makes me think he's more legit then not. But then again, I've seen people do that kind of thing just to boost morale for a series, or something of that matter. In fact, there was a second 'Dojo' of sorts for Brawl, and when he was found out, he said that he just wanted people to be excited, that's all. That's what I think Wentos is tying to do, if he isn't who he says he is.

Oh, and posting in legendary thread.

Well I be damned, who would have thought that a topic about one Sega "employee", would have attracted the creator of the name Ivo Robotnik, but still the guy from 4chan should reveal his identity to Tweaker, If we want to believe in Wentos.

One question to Dean,if you don't mind, who had the decision of having different localize names for Dr.Eggman/Dr.Robotnik, was it the higher ups of Sega or was it the Localization Team?

Wait, what? Is this real?
If DeanSatan really is Robotnik's "father", he would be glad to see this old poll we had some time ago, where a vast majority of the forum said that we like Robotnik more than Eggman :D

Wentos said Sega of Japan has been iffy about using the name "Robotnik" since SA2. It definitely has to do with localization.

WERE MAKING HISTORY AS THE FIRST GAMING FRANCHISE TO FULLY UNITE WITH ITS FANBASE I AM SO EXCITED

...

Okay, sorry for that. Just let me ask; are we still keeping this contact on the down-low? Wouldn't want this guy to get fired.

Also, Dean. Show your higher-ups some of the stuff on this topic. If you have the time, I mean.

there wasnt really a term localization when I was doing this it was really done through third qarty acquisitions.
they would get lots of games and rate them\reject them\embrace them
we `soa` didnt know much about the fiction because there wasnt really any at that time.
it wasnt really a `team` but 2 game councilors and the 2 qroducers saying this is called this and that is that.
we would comment on game status as it was qrogrammed in jaqan.

each of these fictions has a life of its own ..which is qointed out well in the history threads here...
theres soa, archie comics, the several cartoons, the original jaqanese game and uk game versions.
the original megadrive consumer version I saw at the time had little fiction other than rockstar dj or something.

there are many exaqmles of a game changing deending on where its being sold.

Chased out? You mean they've been trying to get rid of the name for awhile?
