And instead of debating the value of a topic, I'd say it's a better idea to either contribute towards it or not reply at all. After all, it's not trashed, so it can't be that useless, can it?

When it comes to this topic, I've beaten every Sonic game—up to a 100%—except for Sonic 2 and Sonic Advance 2 (which I did beat, but without the Emeralds for obvious reasons =P). I've honestly never been able to beat the last boss, nor get all the Chaos Emeralds. I never really did like those special stages, though I did beat them all when they were reused for Sonic Pocket Adventure. Must be the differences in handling.

You know, speaking of Chaos Emeralds, am I the only one who took literally over a hundred tries to initially get the 7th Chaos Emerald in Sonic Advance? That stage isn't forgiving in the slightest.

I'm gob-smacked by how crap some of you are at playing games. I've 100% completed just about every sonic game up to and including Sonic Adventure 2 on DC. I even started achieving all perfects in SA2 after I got all A-ranks until I realised you can't get a 'Perfect' on some levels. The sonic games post SA2 I just couldn't stomach and have barely played 1 or 2 levels.

Basically, I'm good at the main game, but bad at the special stages, SO

Super form/all emeralds/good ending obtained with no form of cheating:
Sonic Adventure
Sonic Adventure 2: Battle (Primarily to find out whether the SS/SS bit was really uncontrollable, the only levels I like in this game are City Escape & Metal Harbor.)
Sonic CD (But I needed a guide to find the robot teleporters. The special stages are the worst that I've played). Interestingly, I think that it's almost impossible to cheat at this game. I don't know of any emulator with Sega CD save states, and I'm pretty sure a Game Genie isn't going to work.
Sonic R (I got Super Sonic, but but didn't feel like filling out the roster. The Tips & Tricks guide for this game said that I was about to race Teddy Tails, But they were wrong. Reactive Factory's character is Metal Knuckles, And I was blindsided. Also, you can't unlock people as Super Sonic)

I also beat Sonic the Hedgehog into Dreams..., and while I'm talking about NiGHTS, I have all A's (by a wide margin), both in NiGHTS into Dreams..., and Christmas NiGHTS. I've got all the presents in Christmas NiGHTS as well. (And, if you care, I got the secret ending in JoD. I sure don't)


All emerald, tool assisted (that means savestates):
Sonic 1 (I could beat it easily without the emeralds with no cheating)
Sonic 2 (with the exception of the final boss, and possibly Oil Ocean Zone, the same deal. Oil Ocean Zone is a Sonic 2 buzzkill, though, so I don't plan on it. And it's special stages have terrible pop up)
Sonic 3&k (I find Blue Sphere more annoying than fun)

Ones that I physically own but haven't beaten:
Sonic Triple Trouble (aka, race against the batteries)
Knuckles Chaotix (this cannot stand, considering how relatively rare this one is)
I own Sonic 2 and S&K. No Sonic 1 or 3.
The Saturn version of 3D Blast. (currently a bare disk sitting on a shelf. I ran out of jewel cases, so I used the one from this game.)
