Finally, fixed all 'errors'. And did a bit of my own shading.

Ok? (There will most likley be more things I need to fix).

It' getting great.
Let's not forget the side shading of the body on the black line!
By the way, which format are you using? Raster or Vector?
Did you upload your art on the Database? (PM SANik for the password)

Awesome work! Looks like a great start. Everyone's stuff is looking beautiful.
I'll still upload my vector of coconuts just for the heck of it, maybe it'll help somebody. Sorry I've been swamped with work, thankfully I'm all done and will be returning. Sorry for leaving you all hanging.
I'll upload my updated Asteron vector and some improvements sometime later today. :D

I'd like to point out a few things that need improvement.
1.) The crevice on the gray earpiece is overly curved. It should be straighter.
2.) The entire earpiece is a bit too large. It is also slightly too low.
3.) The shine on his head is about 10-15 pixels too low.
4.) The part between the eyes should be moved to the left.
5.) There is an unnecessary bulge above his left eye.

I agree with most points above but it's a great start nevertheless.

A while back, someone brought up the idea of modifying the character-badnick art in raster form to make them look nicer, and if I'm not mistaken, the idea was shelved for future discussion.
So I put together a really quick example of how these touchups might look, if the idea isn't rejected in the end.

I know, it's not really fancy, but I think we should discuss the possibility of smoothing out the shading before the final version. This effect isn't hard to achieve, and it would look much nicer if a person was to take any signaficant amout of time doing it.

No, I think the current style is absolutely spot on. Don't rely on gradients to do all the work for you.

I mean absolutelo no disrespect whatsoever, and I'm also not trying to push the idea, but I'm not sure you completely understood my post. The idea was not to use gradients excessively when drawing, but to use existing artwork after it has been completed and add more shades to make it look smoother. I was saying this would be really easy to do in photoshop or something. I don't know if you realised that or not, I'm not psychic. And I definately wasn't trying to imply that there is something wrong with the current style. just mentioning the possibility of touching it up. I'm not really attached to the idea, and if it's a bad one I say let it die. -Just trying to save some face here...

Why we set the actual art-style:
1)Is good, it's working great and it gives a "cool 2D and CG'ish feel" without clashing.
2)A pastel style wasn't suit, and an over-shaded one was too cheap as well. It took months of experiments to set this and move on.
3)We may consider to "update" everything only after all project material is completed, but even so who does it? And who says it isn't getting to the "cheap" side? :D
