I hope that's just a parody hack, because I seriously think texture swaps are on the same level of horrible pallete swaps for the 2D games.

Duh!

Engine still looks like it controls like shit. Hope they're still working on really tuning that.

I love how in all of these videos, the levels are designed to be so damn linear and boring with large portions of the level involving running through long tubes or long narrow areas instead of trying to do a level with more branching paths.
*cough* The levels are "So damn linear" because they're just test levels. They're meant to test out functions of the game without it being an actual level. Kinda like SA2:B's Test level, pretty much a big cube with everything Sonic can do crammed in there.

I've googled for hours looking for the source of this. Any chances someone could post a link? =P
I'm interested to see how it plays...

Make better test levels.

I still love the Damizen engine. Lord knows it needs some work, but it's so very much a step in the right direction. I might mess with Glovepie later to make a working 360 controller setup.

http://www.youtube.c...h?v=mqZRO_1k54E <--- Much better (but short) test level.
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=3P0LHhm1rno <--- For SRB2 defenders and the like.
http://www.youtube.c...h?v=gW5AkBjxbt4 <--- Contains mildly awesome content.

You guys can be kind of funny sometimes. I'd like to note that not everyone is a level layout pro, and that these are still only tests. Don't expect this stuff to look like something out of a full game, because obviously, it's not. This is the first public release of the engine, but it's still not nearly as atrocius as you guys make it sound. For one, it's not a mod of an FPS, which is actually a somewhat of a first, when you think about it. It uses actual models instead of handdrawn sprites, and it doesn't require you to download or buy any "core engine" just to play and edit it.

Funny how when the engine first came out, you guys were falling head over heels for it. Remember, these aren't engine mods. And don't complain about stupid things like Sonic's voice, he was just using the only samples readily available - the main point of most of the videos was to showcase the models or stages, not "LOL LUK AT MY NEW COMPLETE GAEM BETTAR THAN SEGGAR". I don't know about you, but I still think this one could actually go places. We've already seen what a few people can do with it - what may take ages in one of the other engines - fairly quickly.
