Ok ok, while looking through my book "HIGH SCORE! a history about electronic gaming" I spotted SEGAs history with sonic. On the next page over I saw some screen pictures of the sonic games. RIGHT THERE SMACK DOWN AFTER SONIC 3 WAS SONIC 4!!! I could not believe it! And I wonder how Mcgraw Hill a school book and info book maker got Segas permishon and info to print the pic. And Sega......oddly enough this pic was not taken from an emulater. Any explanations? here's the pic.

and if ya still don't believe me ask me for the whole page.....

Ooh. Sonic Crackers. Now, the question is whether or not you hoaxed it. If not, that could be considered proof that Crackers was the next Sonic game, and not just an engine test... Though magazine articles are always prone to errors. Still, if it was published...

Please note that "Sonic 4" is a incorrect name for that game.It whould be better to call it "Sonic Crackers" or "Sonic Studium".

I think "Sonic Crackers" is the name of the group of the people who brought the game out in the first place.

Sonic Crackers is called Sonic Crackers, it's a real sega product, and is a test build engine.

Yes but isn't there traces of Chaotix in it?That means:
a.It's a very early build of Chaotix
b.Chaotix was built directly off the test engine.
Both possible,I guess.

Seems that way.
But what made them stop work on Sonic Crackers mid-development and switch to Knuckles Chaotix?

It appears that Sonic Crackers was made in early-mid 1994, but why would Sega work on that when they haven't even finished working on the remaining levels of Sonic 3 (S&K)?
