The only bit I'm not that keen on is I think there's just a bit *too* much shadow along the jagged lines.

Uh,I REMOVED the Gradient, are you blind?
No, you are. The ridiculously unnecessary shading on the letters, the detracting shadow on the red arrow pattern, and the emphasis on the "HD" in the game title all look extremely ugly and are unnecessarry. You do not need millions of colors to create something that looks good. There were plenty of shades of gray they could have used to shade the original letters, but they didn't, because it looked just fine (and arguably better) without them.
If you want me to be blunt, every time you contribute to this project you present a pile of shit. Please stop.

No, you wouldn't have—you'd hear it. And for you to hate the music I made, you'd have to hate the original music pretty bad, because that's my inspiration in creating it. Your inspiration seems to be Photoshop's gradient tool, which a daresay is much less inspiring.

I think your avatar fits your personality as of late. =P
Also, no. Your wrong. I NEVER simply slap on a photoshop effect, I create it by hand.

Well, I really like the lettering, though I do think that the extra shading on the red is a bit too dramatic compared to the flat blue and red.
Also, everyone, don't forget that each component individually scrolls in and out when you're making these.

Seriously, the title cards were fine as is in Sonic 2. Simply sharpening up the triangles and the letters will suffice.

Hitaxas, that is unnecessary, please remove it. Let us keep all discussion civil please everyone. Friendly, supportive and informative feedback and criticism is the focus of the project, please remember.

That was unnecessary Hitaxas. Prepare to get pwned from tweaker. *Backs away* I'm just gonna go in that corner over there.
Edit: On topic, yeah I think sharpening the edges would do aswell.

Since the idea seems to be keeping it simple (which, in retrospect, makes sense... we won't be seeing the title cards more than 20 seconds tops during gameplay), I pretty much agree with this. I thought the gradients gave it a nice and polished look, but if it's basic colors, then that's the prerogative of the developers and easily overrides my thoughts.

A quick mock-up of the title card sequence, altough it seems rather slow on my machine. [Also some more minor tweaks to the font]:

(The blue line is something I was using then forgot to remove)
Making a complete sprite collection of each letter/number modified to fit with Sonic 2's font at 400% (Or even more if wished) would probably be a good idea sometime.
