Always; feel free to discuss your opinions.

  3. Sonic's walk/jog animation feels... stiff.

It's got that same feeling as Sonic 4 where he spends too much time leisurely walking at too fast of a speed for it to make sense. Not that it's awful, just that Sonic doesn't seem to have much bounce or sway to his first move animation, so it kinda feels like he's shuffling around.

    Sup guys.

It completely lacks a GUI right now, I want to add VU meters, instrument names, and so on, but it does indeed read and display SMPS data, tracker-style. What do you think? Should I finish this?

My idea was to use this to make SMPS videos of soniNeko for Youtube.

Do you hate the sound effects heard in stock Sonic games? Listen to this.

The only sound effect I hate is the Sonic CD jump. But your video is something else, excellent work.

    Trying to be useful somehow.
It's sort of the opposite for me. After being used to SCD's jump, the regular SN effect sounds a lil bit ear piercing to me, and I end up prefering the smoother YM version.

On the video note, the spring is really nice, but at least for my taste, everything sounds too high pitched, I'm not sure how that could end up being on a full game run.

Yeah, I knew someone would eventually catch the gist of the sound effects shown. The idea was I wanted everything to play along joyfully and happily, like going up the notes on a piano (heard with the rings and the points sound effect pitch increasing, which by the way, had a little inspiration after watching someone play Spyro for the PS1 the other day and trying it out for myself). So I lowered the pitch for some sound effects like when you get hit with rings, death and drowning (not shown here) to create a darker, worrying feel.

making cool music no one gives a shit about
I could take or leave the other changes but I think the ring pitch increasing during a chain is genius. Not sure if I'd enjoy it in proper gameplay with music but I can only assume I would, and it's a well-executed concept here at least. Nice work.

Alex tries to make a boss in Sonic 2: TRoDE.
(seriously, of all the things that should have guides, making a boss in Sonic 2 should be top priority)
