It would have made sense if exclusively used for the Spring Stadium boss.

Since 3D has two distinct boss themes, I wonder if the original plan was just to have the major and minor intro variants.:V

I feel like it's one of those tunes that could have worked if it was done right, but I can see why Jun abandoned in favour of the boss tracks he did come up with..

That being said - There's two Boss arrangements in 3D Blast (not counting Final Fight), so maybe the idea was to have different boss themes for different stages - and the unused one could have been for Spring Stadium?
Edit: What the two posts above me said, pretty much :V

Here's a more interesting twist on the theme taking more of a cue from CD's boss theme I found - Works better than I thought it would!

You know I really used to hate the JP Sonic CD boss theme, but that actually makes me appreciate it more.

Panic Puppet/Twinkle Park is a favorite of mine. Looks like it was originally for special stages. The instrumentation isn't far off from the Adventure version.

This is interesting, because it's fairly distinct from Panic Puppet but it's basically identical to the version that Senoue would eventually use for Twinkle Circuit.

It's impressive that they managed to get this to not sound completely out of place in Panic Puppet (ignoring the fact Act 2 is completely different), although it makes you wonder if they ran out of music and had to rely on this one as a backup.

Odd that Jun Senoue would make so many Special Stage tunes though. I'd have thought levels would be higher priority.

Jun used the exact same MIDI for this demo and Twinkle Park’s track. For the latter he mixed it properly and with higher quality instrument samples.

How many Demo Tape tracks are yet unveiled?
I've actually been quite enjoying hearing them.

There are no more, Tails' special stage was the last one (yeah, he didn't play the tracks in the correct order).

Ah, so close, yet so far... I wish he could go ahead and release everything he has to the public, for the sake of videogame history preservation.
