    Jack shit.
    Speeps will be happy.

Now: ADD TO WIKI. In fact I don't think any SA DLC is on the wiki. We have downloads for all the SA2 stuff anyway.

AAAAAAAAA, YES I AM DEFINITELY HAPPY.
I've been waiting years to see this! The only info you could only ever find about it were posts on Japanese websites from 20 years ago.

Each Kadomatsu acts like your typical DLC object: They play a (Japanese) message and a music track when hit.
Each one has a unique message but there's only 3 music tracks. I'll try and get a vid showing off this pack (+ Windii's translation of the messages) up asap.

(Though showing off the music is a problem because Demul isn't cooperating enough to show the full songs and Redream crashes trying to play them)

  7. Wow, a lot of finds have been happening in this month related with Sonic. I'm genuinely amazed how much happened already for just a month.

Got the vid up with footage of this, again couldn't get the full music but that'll probably pop up once it's on PC.

SADX Dreamcast Conversion, The Emeralds' Awakening
If you want to play this in the PC version of SADX, now you can!

A couple of things I noticed while dissecting the DLC file and recreating the content in the Dreamcast DLCs mod for SADX:
So the kadomatsu decorations display greetings and play music when you touch them. The music is sequenced music and the DLC download includes an MLT soundbank for the music, just like the Japanese Christmas 1998 download. It seems like it's based on the Christmas 1998 DLC package. For example, these two small decorations that don't show messages by default actually have text reserved for them. They use message slot 0. Messages in slot 0 and 1 in the DLC file say "- Hotel Manager -". In the Christmas 1998 package the message in slot 0 actually did have a greeting from the hotel manager that ended with the same text. The message after that says "Be careful not to eat too many mochi". This message shows up in the same location where "Be careful not to eat too much cake" was in the 1998 Christmas DLC.
There are also two unused messages. Both of them are from "Casinopolis Manager". Supposedly the original version of this DLC had a bug that prevented the player from progressing in Knuckles' story. The fixed version that we got doesn't place any decorations in SS Casino area, so my guess is those unused messages were meant for decorations in the Casino area, which were removed in this version to fix whatever issue was preventing Knuckles from entering Casinopolis. I thought it was kind of a waste so I readded these decorations in the mod for the PC version. Note that there are no coordinates for these removed decorations in the original DLC so I placed them where I thought they could've been.
    Have fun!

As long as it's heavily noted. You know some people will just apply the mod and freak out there noting stuff.

PkR doing great work as always - can't believe you've ported this to SADX so quickly. I know which mod I'll be running this coming New Year's! = )

Ironicly, Sonic-Cult had Sonic Adventure and Adventure2 DLC before it shut down last year.

Am I imagining things, or has there been in the past mods for the Dreamcast version of the game? My Google-Fu is only turning up the DX conversions.

Just thinking that bundling all the DLC into the game itself instead of hogging all those VMU slots would be nice, if there's space left on the disc of course.

Is it weird that I'm more surprised by this being found than the Sonic 3 beta?

To my knowledge there haven't been any serious mods for the Dreamcast version, due to how 90% of the game's data is integrated into the code. I know Dude had some kind of RDX version for DC, but I think that was just object layouts and maybe textures and music.

Is the search for DLC truly over when this specific DLC got a patch (the one we have now)?

Do we not need to find the pre-patch version now? :oldbie:
