    Welp, this.
So, I'm looking at upgrading my machine's RAM from 8GB to 32GB, and noticed this Amazon listing by Patriot. Now, the last time I really had to care in-depth about computer parts was ~2005ish, so what I'm wondering is: does brand still matter as an indication of quality? Is it worth it to pay $30-40 more for a Mushkin/Crucial/Corsair option, or have the lesser-known brands got better in the past 15 years?

I've used Patriot memory before without any major issues.

I think I may have had one module go bad on me years ago, and they replaced it for nothing but shipping costs.

I should look into giving my PC an upgrade as well.
