Eww!! That water scorpion is one nasty looking bug thing ! Any translations to the lion ant badnik’s actions ?
On the June beta, the trapdoors on the floor make Sonic sprites go garbled. Maybe he was meant to fall in them?
I noticed this was added to Sega Retro back in June... but was it ever posted here? It's quite the thing. SegaSonic Bros. And the track is called "Funky Brothers" too. It was right in front of us all this time.
Moreover, I'm sure the spikes on this badnik are representative of the eggs the males carry on their backs after the females embed them there. continuing the species ID of some badniks, I do question the designation of "stink bug" for Tamabboh. For one, stinkbugs are notorious for being sheild-shaped, and only release their namesake stink until squashed; whereas tamabboh releases its voluntarily, and shares its bauplan with mecha-bu, a confirmed beetle. I thus surmise it's actually a bombardier beetle. Then there's the Tsuno-tsuno: Which if isn't based on treehoppers, then I'm a cow's udder.
So something a bit different. Was doing some research for a new history video and found this. https://www.betsonparts.com/downloads/dl/file/id/155/sonic_tails_spinner_manual.pdf It's the manual for one of those Prize Redemption ticket machines and... Edit: "Don't we already have this on the wiki?" Darn, literally right as I published the post, turns out it is on the wiki, got confused since there's two of these machines which are very similar in design and name. Oh well, on with the research =/
Another remix: It's quite surreal to look at a relatively grounded music video with these stupids lyrics. I love it.
Looks like Richard Jacques isn't happy with the Tee Lopes remix: https://twitter.com/Richard_Jacques/status/1192574740311027712?s=20
Richard Jacques had no involvement with Sonic Chronicles. His compositions for Sonic 3D were used in the game, though.
I can understand him being disappointed by the lack of credit, but why is he putting the blame on Tee Lopes and not Sega? This remix was commissioned and published by Sega.
It seems like this isn't the first time Jacques has had issues with Tee, apparently: https://twitter.com/Richard_Jacques/status/1192594519717531649?s=20 https://twitter.com/Richard_Jacques/status/1192597446809079809?s=20 He doesn't go into detail about it, but it seems he's definitely taking issue with Tee, not SEGA, for some reason. This whole situation is pretty out of the blue. I wonder what happened between those two?
TJ Davis liked it, at least. Tee didn't credit him on his personal Twitter, but I guess considering this is a case where it's well-known who did the original, maybe he didn't think it necessary? Not good form, but there's something odd in the background here. I hope it's not anything really bad.
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate how cool Jun Senoue is? I mean, come on... “BREAKING: RICHARD JACQUES SETS TWITTER THE WORLD ON FIRE. SHAMELESS PLUG FOR PRESIDENT?” Really?
Jun seems to be a great guy. I hope he does more compositions for the games in the future. Love his stuff. Also, Jacques deleted his tweets, it seems, but I have some of them screencapped if anyone wants to see them. https://imgur.com/a/vAL46G8
Man isn't stuff like new remixes and the original composer's reactions the type of thing that really should have its own topic instead of being in this topic where it will be lost to the sands of time?
