As far as I know, the cut off for oldbie status has always been a semi-specifically defined date that hasn't changed in the past decade. There's probably always room for some sort of change to happen, but I wouldn't hold your breath.

Besides, the oldbie lounge is basically a foul smelling old folk's home where we bitch and complain about how our bodies are falling apart. Very uninteresting.

 

As long as the forum skin for the oldbie lounge can be used across the whole forum by me I will be satisfied.

I assume us techies get to use html for our signatures? :P Not like it matters to me though, I use bbcode for mine. I'm extremely happy to finally see Retro convert to Xenforo over this outdated IPB. Will it be on 2.1?

Perhaps oldbie should be renamed something else. At this point, it's basically those who were around for the first few years of the modern Sonic community's existence. We oughta call ourselves the "nursing home" of the community :v:

So shall the original oldbies be called "Sea Genius" again like in the past? :P Then the new oldbies could be called Neo Oldbies. (But I guess "New Old" sounds fucking strange though the more I think of it. xD)

 

Perhaps "New Gen Oldbie"? Something that makes them stand out like the others.
And question, with the new move, will the rules get updated as well?

 

Been hearing about this forum move forever, I can't wait to see what it's like.

 

InvisionPower has been my favorite forum service forever, but I haven't really been paying attention to advancements in forum technology in the last 5-7 years, so I'm hoping the new service feels like a worthy improvement. What exactly will be the new service?

 

Xenforo, and honestly it's much better than the current version of IPB. I used to love IPB 3, but 4 really dropped the ball on content. Xenforo asthetically looks better and is overall structured much better than IPB 4. It's also cheaper when it comes to buying/renewing a license than IPB. More and more forum enthusiasts are picking Xenforo for their paid forum platform of choice than other ones. (I'm too poor to afford it myself. xD)

 

Why not go back to ezbread? :v:
