Somebody recorded part of an unseen cutscene: [edit: let's not do this - DTL] I'm guessing the person the uploader was referring to is the streamer that just got shut down. + - Which one?
Spoiler I came in during a boss that takes place in it so I can't be sure the name it used, but it looked basically just like Windy Hill. Right down to the stupid giant cutscene springs. at least it was on fire
Spoiler Right, sorry, I was getting generic-discount-Mario-themed-stage mixed up with other-discount-generic-Mario-themed-stage can we talk for a second about how they recycled assets and gimmicks so shamelessly that I genuinely couldn't tell the difference
Not in the time that the stream was up. There were only a couple areas/levels we didn't know about yet.
Spoiler I think people are uploading the livestream to YouTube, so you may want to scrounge around there if you missed the livestream before it was pulled. Won't give links though EDIT: Nevermind, mistook a video of the demo for the livestream. Sorry guys.
Its gone, thanks to SEGA. /v/ described From what was shown off: Spoiler It got taken down but we saw all the stages from the demo, Sunset Heights Classic (The music sounded like a chiptune remix of one of the Sonic R tracks), Death Egg Avatar and Modern stages, Zavok bossfight, Infinite Boss Fight for Modern Sonic, Tag Team stage for Green Hill, Casino Forest Classic and Modern. Then it got zapped.
Spoiler Putting him in solitary confinement and torturing him? Nothing out of the ordinary to see here then, it's just Eggman doing it this time.
I don't blame you. Before Park Avenue was fully announced, everyone called it "destroyed City Escape". I'll repeat what I said a few pages back just to set the record straight; reusing assets isn't sin, but the way much of it is reused here just feels like an inconsistent jumble. Anyone familiar with the assets will make comparisons with previous stages that used them (or their aesthetic, color scheme, concept, etc.). I also feel that this game didn't have a dedicated art style. Maybe it's because I put extra attention into the art of the boost games, but this makes my eyes just go "am I looking at Generations or Lost World?". I know a lot of people are fine with the visuals, but I just can't like it. Still feel Unleashed is the best looking Sonic game, and that's because of its design, color scheme, lighting, and all in all a dedicated art style for that game that looked great. Some stages are less offenders of this whole reusing assets at the cost of an art style- Avatar's Space Port looks a bit more like its own thing compared to Green Hill. But even when it comes to the game's art, it can't really stand on its own two legs, not without Generations and Lost World's support. I mean, go full Generations if you want to reuse assets, go full Lost World; just don't try to mix assets that conflict with each other just to save resources. But I understand they can be on a tight budget and deadline. I'm not saying every Sonic game needs its own art style, I'm saying don't make the art in the same scene so conflicting. Just my opinion, but Lost World style models with Generation's textures look awful, and neither of the game's assets complement each other. Pretty much how I feel. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing.
+ - If they have him captive, why didn't they just turn him into a robot or brainwash him? The Zeti tried to do the former just last game! Eggman must've had a massive hate boner that he needed to relieve.
Spoiler With the way Mania Sonic is technically from The Past, but also kind of a Different Dimension, do you think this is Sega's way of fixing the whole Blaze/Eggman Nega/Silver clusterfuck? The Future, A Different Dimension, same shit! :v:
This is the exact kind of Shadow-The-Hedgehog-tier edge we DON'T need in this franchise. Why am I not surprised that Shun fucking Nakamura put this shit in the game.
