I do recall Micael Jackson's Moonwalker actually using some of the same sound effects that were used on previous sonic games. A couple of these:

    > When you kill an enemy when sliding down the banister - Plays the same sound as is used on those red flip doors used in Scrap Brain Zone on Sonic 1

    > On the final boss, whenever you shoot Mr Big - It plays the same sound that is heard when a platform collapses, like the bridges on Mystic Cave on Sonic 2.

SEGA was given a standard set of sound effects, so you can expect them to be in other games.

Hmm... Those might have come with their sound library, seeing how both games use the same sound engine and all.

Was Moonwalker made after Sonic 3? If so, could there be a possibility Michael could have wanted to licence his own video game if the circumstances stopped him from getting music credit in Sonic 3?

Do we know of any games that use the same sound effects as Sonic? Even just one or two.
On the subject, Kirby's Dreamland and Pokemon R/B share sound effects.

Ristar has a couple. Can't remember which ones off the top of my head though.
