A quick attempt to disable the time counter using BizHawk led to an hour of reverse engineering. The object system is quite neatly organized and dynamic.

The video has to be in HD, but it doesn't need stretched. Burning some pillarboxing (black bars on the sides) into the video would allow the proper aspect ratio while still creating a video that YouTube sees as HD60.
Ooh, is that a Metroidvania? Art isn't really worth sneezing about, but I'm definitely interested in what kind of game design you might have in store.

Now that the contest is over, let's start getting back to work. Note: all of this was done myself in only 2 days.The foreground was done in Paint.NET, with the bac kground being entirely done in SonLVL. To add to that, I had to put this on Scrap Brain Zone, since the original GHZ is already taken. I based the BG off of the Sonic 1 Tokyo Toy Show beta, btw. Hope to see you with a demo next month!~
I hacked the Sega screen in Virtua Racing to make it load the "A" models for all 4 letters. The "SEGA" in the background gets displayed once the letters form together, so that's why that's there.
