Sonic 25th Party 2016 - San Diego

Thus far, ShayMay's tweets are more entertaining than anything on the stream.

I swear to god the ringing noise is getting louder.

 

I don't mind poking fun, but I kind of have to roll my eyes at the YouTube chat screaming "CRINGE" and "AUTISM" when they see people there genuinely having fun. Like, you do know that you're INCLUDED in the group of people watching a Sonic livestream, right?

 

These Hyper Potion guys are kind of phoning it in. They're just putting a beat over an existing track. I think nearly every one of them has been related to the Chao Garden. A sign of things to come?

 

My god, this is really awkward to watch.

 

Or they just grew up as "SONIC BATTLE 2 ADVENTURE IS THE BEST GAME EVAR" kids and have a boatload of nostalgia for the Chao Garden. It is pretty weird, though. "Chao Kindergarten" would not be something I would ever use to hype up a crowd.

EDIT: I should clarify, I legit did have someone tell me that, in real life. That Sonic Battle 2 Adventure was their childhood, and the best game ever.

 

I've never understood why they think a nerdy event would mesh well with club music. Everytime I see it, it just doesn't gel. It would probably be less awkward to just have a speedrunner play a Sonic game on the big screen for the time where they need to set up.

Also, yeah Josh, I've noticed that a lot of college age people have really gravitated toward Sonic Adventure 2 battle for that same reason. Nostalgia can be a crazy thing.

 

Did they just gingerly lead Sonic onto the stage like some time-withered geriatric or are my eyes playing tricks on me?

 

Dancin' Sanic is awfully close to the edge of that stage.

 

Well I guess it can't get any worse.

Feel kinda bad for bashing them, it's charming enough, but when everyone is waiting for this announcement it just feels unnecessary.

 

Seriously. I swear it's getting worse every song.

 

They can't seem to fix the buzz. I'm missing Eggman be a ham.
