This sounds like some Sonic Advance stuff right here, it's got some Sonic Advance 2/3 GBA Instruments Earth, Wind & Fire - Mighty Mighty -> Greatest Hits https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NKljHXYTRy0
Bit of a bump, but... this isn't just me, is it? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyotodRXKdc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iFlfmeHRLc
So many broken youtube links :v: I found this one ages ago and I don't think I've ever seen anyone post it The Cardigans - After All SA OST - Sadness I made a short mashup of the two I've also always thought this sounded a lot like a song from one of the newer sonic games but I'm not sure which The Cardigans - Never Recover
While it kinda pales to those revelations, I always thought Apotos had nearly the exact same riff as here sped up:
This has nothing to do with Sonic but don't these sound too similar? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uyun_DtXh9g http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XXU9-w2Lqyk
https://app.box.com/s/305yrqc9undga9h4b1oash294neulk1n Mentioned about a year ago how Spring Yard has that one weird synth melody that heavily resembles the horns at the beginning of Cheryl Lynn's "Got To Be Real", so here's a slapped together thing to prove I'm not losing my mind here. Speaking of Nakamura and this exact song... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wwk3Vt-Apd4 4:36 - onward http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84GEk4RUY3s 4:13 - onward I knew he pastiched the style of the song for 'Kessen Wa Kinyoubi', but the horn line is just about identical here.
I apologize if this has already been posted before. My computer can't really handle the amount of YouTube videos on each page. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1N8RA499ocI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7JPWZTU0-3Y
http://youtu.be/FTy0quMOFYQ 2nd song at around 2:30 This song from GITADORA (GuitarFreaks and Drummania) sounds like it would fit well in Sonic Adventure 2 Yasushi Asada has a pretty good track record with video game music. I like all of his music game contributions too.
I'm not browsing 35 pages to see if this was mentioned before, but I do believe I've found; not something that "sounds like X", but rather what "pretty much is X": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=01n8imWdT6g At: 0:19 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iQl46-zIcM At: 1:18 I am 100% convinced that "Soul II Soul - Keep On Movin'" was the inspiration for Ristar's "Ice Scream". The piano chord progression during the chorus matches Ristar's the PSG chord (with exception to keys in the chords due to obvious limitations), the percussion has the same kick and snare structure. But to top it all off, the bass. If you have headphones and are able to hear the bass loud enough, you will find an exact replica, same type of instrument sound, same notes, even Ristar's tried to emulate the following echo on the same channel, the only real difference is the tune being played at a few notes lower in frequency/pitch, and the obvious different melodies. And this isn't just even a slight section, the whole tune seems to be literally based off of "Keep On Movin'".
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B2jVbSI9H4o - Megalovania, from Undertale (put 1.25 speed) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQN6RFpLgBw - Heat Man's stage, Mega Man 2 It's just the beginning that sounds similar though.
In "World 3-5" of "Yoshi Woolly World", there's some piano notes that plays in high pitches. If you sign the lyric "there's no room for you and me" from "With Me" it sounds really similar; as if the one in YWW's a cheery version of said lyric. As I was playing through the game yesterday for the first time, I mindlessly sang that lyric during that portion. I think it's just me, though. Here's the song for comparison (I linked to the respective parts): https://youtu.be/GQfTrf6Cq4U?t=49 https://youtu.be/-HrOjyltyEM?t=71
I was playing Christmas NiGHTS lately and every time I got to the results screen with this tune: My girlfriend kept singing this along to it (from 0:51)
This is another song from the Game Can series for Mega CD. This one is specifically from Vol 2, probably from the Teddy Boy Blues port. Track 16 (sped up version of track 14) It sounds a bit like Balloon Park toward the end, or some song from Sonic 3. I can't place my finger on where I've heard a song just like it though. I noticed that the drum kit used in this song is actually very similar to the standard one used on Sonic 3 (very LinnDrum like). Did anyone ever figure out where those drum samples originated? Game Can Vol 2 came out around the same time Sonic 3 development was wrapping up, and the sound team for this collection consists of mostly the same people (Jun Senoue, etc).
Sorry for the bump but there's one thing that has been bothering me for over decade now. Is Sonic 3D Blast's (Genesis version) Spring stadium based or heavily influenced by something else? I swear I've heard a melody strongly resembling it. Or am I just crazy?
Sounds similar to Casino Street Zone Act 1: I've also seen comparisons to Emerald Coast 1 but I don't hear it there.
It's a re-arrangement of Green Grove Zone. I could have sworn someone mentioned it here, like, a year or two ago. I remember being blown away when I read it.
Well, Jun Senoue did do the Genesis version of 3D Blast, so more rearrangements isn't exactly unheard of it.
