Alright, so we all know about the similarities between Cheryl Lynn's "Got to Be Real", DCT's "Kessen wa Kinyoubi" and Labyrinth Zone; and how they all have a similar type of rhythm due to Nakamura taking inspiration from Lynn's track. But I think I just noticed something that's been right under our noses this whole time that shows he might have taken more inspiration than that..

    ^melody at 0:05-0:07 and throughout

They're played just a bit differently, but it's the same notes in the same order. Seems like another sneaky homage, and would make a bit of sense out of why the melody to Spring Yard is so bizzare.

Sounds like "It Doesn't Matter" at around 1:30 mark:

The song at 7:54 reminds me of the 8-bit Labyrinth:

    Big Discovery!

The Intro to Apotos -> Windmill Isle Zone Day is sampled from the intro Blue Cat - Playing Hard To Get but sped up with backing drums

I love this one I stumbled on in the 4th SNES Goemon game:

Jun Senoue composed the menu theme for 3D Blast and was responsible for all the tracks in Victory Goal (the 1995 one) for the Saturn.

Just judging by the tone its likely they both got the riff out of the same loop library.

Also, this thread has been on fire lately. Great finds guys.

Nice find! Sounds awesome once you play the Xenoblade sample and then the Sonic Free Riders one

I've heard many Michael Jackson links to Knuckles' S3 theme, but what about this one?:

The drums are uncanny (a credit to MD's sound chip I guess).

For extra points the lyrical version has a cheesy rap segment.

This has very similar chords to the S&K miniboss theme.

    Dat glass break.

Some of the finds in this thread are scary. Excelent work, you guys!

That being said, I once found the "go" sample being used in an unlikely song; it was a song by a British band, but I won't be posting it here because nothing in the music sounds like anything, except fot the aforementioned sample.

  15. Couldn't find this info anywhere, but I am pretty sure the Ice Cap Zone tune from S&K PC Collection is the same from Crystal Egg Zone in Sonic 2 SMS.

Something not Sonic, but I always thought these two songs sound very similar to each other. There are many arrangements out there, I picked one that sounded the most similar.

Coincidentally, take note of the title of the song. :P

I think it's more than coincidental that these two tracks share such similarities...

Metropolis Street Racer - It Doesn't Really Matter (01:09)
    http://youtu.be/RDebh-Z8LGw

    Sonic 3D Saturn - Green Grove (00:24)
    http://youtu.be/KV-BvUDHH6o

Both composed by Richard Jacques, and that's TJ Davis on the MSR track too. The MSR soundtrack is so similar to Sonic R in general really.

Also this at 00:11, compared to Green Grove above at 01:03.

Oh wow. I'm really familiar with the S3KC soundtrack but never noticed that before. They're too alike to be a coincidence. How odd!
