If anything I'm glad an action oriented Sonic uses rings to fill an HP bar sort of like the mech sections of SA2. On the other hand nearly everything about that looked like uninspired tripe.
Looks like a solid platformer, and the controlls do look good (except for the speed sections). It just looks incredibly boring. I'm not kiddind when I said "yawn"; my eyes were getting heavy while watching that playthrough. I said "fuck this" and closed the video midway. I'll just ignore the existence of this game, just like I do with Sonic Chronicles: The Dark Brotherhood.
When I see games like this, everything looks solid from a mechanical standpoint, but as soon as I saw how long it took to kill just those snake enemies, I knew BRB fumbled the pacing. I hate games that feel they need to pad out run-times with combat. I'd rather the exploration and combat be balanced in a way that doesn't make me feel like I've hit a wall like this does. Not saying it should be easy, but things need to be staggered correctly, and levels can't outstay their welcome. Thats the problem that keeps me from going back to games like the first Uncharted. Also, the speed portion looks awful by all accounts, so that pulls it down.
God, you people and your taste in horrible platformers. IS THIS WHY SHIT SONIC GAMES ARE SHIT? BECAUSE THEY SELL BETTER? Mother of God, it's our fault! We kept buying enough of them for SEGA/Sonic Team to get over the grade curve. Take me now, cold, indifferent void. My time has come, I've grown tired.

Sonic Boom heading to Japan as...Sonic Toon Because "Sonic Toon" totally makes sense. :v: Anyways, now it's confirmed that Sonic Boom will be available in Japan, though the JP version will be released a bit later ("Winter").

I actually think to some degree it's a better title. Games are linked to the TV show, and it doesn't add to the seven billion other things already called Sonic Boom. =P
I was gonna say, no kidding. The fact that the cartoon seems to be the strongest pillar of this endeavour helps too.

I can confirm that Funky Rustic is involved in the sound design and not music, and the Sonic community is essentially jumping the gun and putting 2 + 1.5 = 6.3255 again because hey, everything audio and music related is a single job.
It's a neutral thing. I'm against misinformation. edit: ESPECIALLY when said misinformation could get people in trouble by putting words in their mouth.
