What was the file size? That could be a hint.

It's 3mb, but they are just updating something that was being used before. Doesn't seem like there is anything in there. Just something to patch the default.xex. I didn't see anything in there unfortunately.

Edit: Yeah, Dario's saying about the Casino Night makes sense. Since that hasn't been released yet.

Ten bucks it's for releasing the Casino Night Pinball DLC on 360. It hasn't been released yet on that platform, has it?

Come to think of it I don't believe it is. It was only offered through those who pre-ordered it.

Well if you got it as pre-order bonus you still had to download it. Would that require an update?

    Jack shit.
Are we sure this is a new update? I played it last week and was prompted to update. Or has the game gotten a patch before?

As for Casino Night Pinball I'm told it was released in Japan fairly quickly, though I'd have to check my Japanese account on my 360.

The PC version needed a patch for the Casino Night DLC to be enabled for purchases, regardless of the fact that it worked already via cracking it, or simply modding the game to enter it in the first releases of the game(In fact, the current SonicGMI bootscripts I posted in the other thread can boot directly into these levels without having it purchased).

Speaking of, any Brit want my Casino Night redemption code from my PS3 Collector's edition bundle? I'd rather it didn't go to waste and expire, but that it go to a nice home where it will be played once or twice then never touched again.

I fucking love that. I like it more than the final one ( even if it's the wrong theme). I wish it was released clean somewhere because it's fucking badass

So I just bought the PC version fro mthe Steam sale, and after having to deal with critical errors which caused me to force Steam to run under administor settings, I'm currently listening to the credits. Overall, aside from the problem with getting the damn game to run, it's a pretty solid PC port if I do say so myself. There is one thing weird I noticed while playing, and that's that Metal Sonic's opening cutscene plays for about 3 seconds, then it cuts straight to the fight without me pushing any buttons. Also, Shadow's opening cutscene is completely absent, as are the two Casino Night ones before the level starts. Every other cutscene is just fine for me. I know it's not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things, but it really bugs me that that has to happen to me. Anyone know what could possibly be the issue there? I've heard that the game has issues with non-360 controllers, and that's what I used the entire time, so I dunno. + - The achievment for perfecting Time Eater can still go fuck itself.

Now it's time to get to modding! :specialed:

    Hi guys,

sorry but I can't really bother reading 200+ pages of topic (not counting the first Megathread, I've read just some posts here and there) so I'm going to ask the question right away.
I'm a huge fan of the 8 and 16bit Sonic games, Sonic Adventure has been like "oh, cool, nice, ok", SA2 "not bad" and everything else just a big MEH (Sonic 4 Episode I wasn't that bad though).
I was thinking of getting SG for Christmas but I've read different opinions about it so I'd like yo ask you if is it worth getting it or if I should just pass and wait for the next iteration. Consider that I'll probably be playing the classic 2.5D mode and give just a quick shot at the modern mode.

    Thx :)

    Working on my art!
Don't dismiss modern Sonic's gameplay just yet, it's actually quite endearing in this game (Probably his best outing yet).

And you'd be a fool to pass up the best Sonic game since S3&K. It's over a year old and not a week (Hell not even 3 days) goes by without me popping it back in for a quick run. It's amazing to see the levels of the past remade in a game that doesn't suck ass, giving new life to the horrors that were SA1, SA2, Heroes, and 06. I also like the game because after oh so many years we finally have a base. Classic Sonic may not play perfectly, but we have a game that says "This is modern Sonic, this is classic Sonic, this is the two types of gameplay that Sonic has, fuck the rest. forget Heroes, forget the Adventure gameplay, forget all of that because this is what Sonic is." I'm hoping they take from this base and expand upon it in the future.

Despite the game being a trip down nostalgia lane, it's incredibly fun in it's own right. So yes go buy it.

I'm critical as fuck of anything after SA1. I hate modern Sonic, his games and everything his stupid face adorns.

And yet... I say yes, DO get Generations because it's fucking amazing - both Modern and Classic modes. I can't say I play it as much as Dark Sonic, but last year I said that fans will get bored of it pretty quickly and the game will never stand up to repeated plays like the classics. I was wrong, because I too am still here playing this game along with many others.

    Trapped in my own thoughts.
Two stageplays, a screenplay, and an album
Not if you want to get through more than the first few stages. The two gameplay styles are not just separate modes; rather they are intertwined in a single campaign, and you must play both in order to progress through the game.

That said, the Modern gameplay is so amazing in Generations that I find myself spending more time with it than with Classic. I'd recommend the game even if it had no classic stages at all.

Hear hear. I had way more fun with Modern than Classic, which is not to say classic is bad, not by a long shot, but Modern just feels very full. The level design, visuals and controls are very refined, and Modern Seaside Hill is seriously the most phenomenal level Sonic has had since S3&K, and I hope they're taking notes from it for future games.

Generations is more than worthy of your time and money. You can find it around for $20 or so bucks nowadays and even cheaper on Steam, so I encourage people to play it!

Wow, thanks a lot guys! :)

After reading your opinions I'll get it for sure!
I'll be playing it on the PS3 though, as it is my gaming machine of choice - although it would look beautful on my iMac 27" *mumblemumble*...

I know this was a problem with the PS3 Demo, but I'm not sure if this applies to the final PS3 version of the game, but I recall the jump was very slightly delayed in the PS3 version. A small thing, but just wanted to let you know :)
