The iOS version of Data.rsdk is also different. I would expect the PS3 and PC versions to be different as well, because they probably contain platform specific assets. The PC version is not going to help anyone get at the data, it's still going to be packed in an RSDK file. (This is an assumption, but a very good one. The data didn't need to be packed into an encrypted file, and since it was there was probably a good reason for it.) I still intend to post a complete rip, but as I stated yesterday I'm not going to work on it until after the holidays. If someone else doesn't do it first, just try to wait patiently. I too am interested in getting the rest of the extended JP tracks.

This port is fantastic and all, but my only complaint is that the buttons in the mobile version are too small. Of course, I've got a fat ass thumb, so naturally it'd be hard for me, but the buttons in Sonic 1&2 were bigger and positioned far enough as to not cover too much screen. Some comparison shots (sorry about the angle, posting from my phone) http://db.tt/yH3zQaF5 http://db.tt/D2KlfFBG

Isn't Little Planet used anywhere in the port (rather surprised they didn't use it as the Options theme really)?
Sonic? Number 1 in something? What is this 1993? Congrats Taxman on a fine port. Hopefully Sega is watching this closely. THIS THING SELLS BECAUSE ITS GOOD. Now do it from now until the end of time.
You don't have to hit precisely where the buttons are. I've noticed I can touch nearly halfway across the screen and have it count as "right", for example (the other half is A). The images are a loose guide.
That's the nice thing about it - the d-pad is actually bigger than it looks. And there's only one button, so there's no issue on the right side.
It would be nice if debug mode worked on the Android version, though. Like, if two more on-screen buttons showed up if and only if debug were activated, so I could go in and start placing crap. Oh well, at least I get coordinates.
I'm really happy to see this selling as well as it is. Hopefully the good sales of this, Colors, and Generations prove to Sonic Team that effort = money and sales. I also am hoping that the success of this gives Tax some more jobs at SEGA, not even necessarily for only making Sonic remakes and such, but using his engine in other games as well.
Gave my little brother an early Hanukkah present of a $25 iTunes card. He promptly bought Sonic CD and Batman Arkham City: Lockdown. And he's standing over me playing the game, refusing to let me play it. I'm currently waiting for the US PSN release. This. Hurts.
So I was just looking at the reviews for this game on iTunes. And you wouldn't fricking believe how many people are complaing that "it has teh old peeple graphics wat a ripoff it isnt even 3d" Idiots. But I also noticed that a lot of people were complaining about the screen blacking out after the intro finishes. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but I'm just pointing it out. Because the same thing happened to me when I tried to play it on my iPod Touch, but it worked after I turned off my iPod. By the way: Dang, I never knew the JP soundtrack was this good. I actually like it better than the US version, which I grew up on.
But the Special Stages are 3D! On another note: https://market.android.com/details?id=apps_topselling_paid&feature=top-paid Sonic CD ranks 38th on Android. That's nice, but it deserves some more lovin'. Is there a way to gift apps on Android? I couldn't find any. 1-stars reviews are still ruining the overall rating and are mostly there because of the saturated Sega servers. Any news on when this will be fixed?
