Spoiler Re-fighting the Egg Dragoon made me realize that it actually perfectly recreates the gameplay Unleashed was all about: Memorize to win. Just like most things in Unleashed, that thing was annoyingly hard the first time around, but once you know what to do and go back to it, it became a breeze. Even hard mode didn't even feel all that bad compared to the first time fighting this thing.
It's still game content that I can't run for some arbitrary reason. The 30 second "get as far as you can" mode sounded pretty cool as well, but maybe that's just me. Either way, I'd still like to hear from others and see if there's a workaround in place yet.

Several times. I've been lurking all around here, The NeoGAF OT, and the respective Steam forum (which seems to contain most of the people who are suffering from this problem) and I haven't read any success stories yet, sadly. I've tried 'nixing my firewall/antivirus, rebooting, verifying my cache, running it on two different machines that are well within minimum specs, using and NOT using a usb gamepad -- you name it. The game simply does not want me to load up the online modes. I'd be happy to give my system specs if it helps things out, but given that I've tried this on two pieces of hardware (in two different cities, even!), I'm pretty sure I can rule out that it's a hardware program.
Strangely enough, I'm now crashing with the exact same bug despite the fact that I was able to play Online Mode completely fine yesterday night.
Spoiler You hit the nail on the head. It was incredibly frustrating for me the first time fighting him, and I died like two times, but I've only fought him twice and man, was it a breeze in the second run. Think I beat him almost 5 minutes sooner.
3.1GHz Dual Core CPU, GeForce GTS450, 10GB of RAM, and the game still stutters and freezes like shit. Anything I would be able to do about this, or just wait for Sega to put out a patch (laffo)?
Ah, okay. It's was Colors then, wasn't it? I know that there's been a German dub before this game at least.
Got my CE on Friday, completed it earlier today (or yesterday, technically). I'm now collecting red rings and aiming for the platinum trophy. Verdict - definitely the best Sonic game in at least a decade. I've so enjoyed it, and I even really like some of the missions. Did I read some people didn't get a proper instruction manual? I was worried about that after reading it, but thankfully mine had a full one in it ^_^. Spoiler I just about creamed my pants when I played Speed Highway classic for the first time. I don't know whether it's because I didn't expect much from it, but I adore that level. And Crisis City! Such great level design. I'm glad I read that you don't need to S Rank all the missions, because I've spent the better part of the last few hours doing just that. I'm just finished S Ranking all the Mega Drive era missions. Some of the missions so far have managed to give me major rage; but again that's my own fault for trying to S Rank them. The greased lightning achievement also gave me a bit of trouble. I attempted this after I completed it, foolishly thinking I'd be able to use the slow-time skill to help me. Unfortunately it slows everything down, including sonic Also, loving the ability to choose different tracks. I know it's a touch of sacrilidge, but on my 8th attempt at one of the Sky Sanctuary missions I switched the track to "His World" and found that it fits extremely well. As does Sonic Boom. On almost every act. S Ranking the Knuckles race mission in Green Hill gave me supreme rage. Sonic is more than definitely slowed down in that challenge, and accidentally falling on the wrong side of one of those giant badniks costs you about 5 seconds. Unpleasant. Thankfully I remained unspoiled about classic Eggman - what a moment. Also, is there a point to the trophy room? I have 55, is that the max?
My friends and I are drunken livestreaming... Wanna watch? Starting from scratch... http://www.twitch.tv/chozoquaa
If anyone's interested, I've made a video of me going through Seaside Hill and taking alternate paths. I wouldn't say I'm speedrunning it as I make a couple of mistakes and I'm not really aiming for time. This was more of a test to see if I could record Green Hill Zone well for the contest. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NCG38hRkSI0 Still worth a watch if you haven't explored the level a lot or played the game.
I don't know if it's been mentioned in another topic or anything (and it's not really related to Generations), but this years "macy's thanksgiving day parade" is going to have a Sonic balloon. http://www.myfoxny.com/dpp/news/new-macys-thanksgiving-day-parade-balloons-20111105-gjw
Direct capture won't work for the contest. You need to have a webcam or something focused on the screen, and then you need to shift the camera to yourself, to prove that it was you who did that speedrun and not some other guy.
Yeah, I heard about that somewhere. Cool lookin balloon. Doesn't have that double mouth thing going on like the old one.
Guys...I just realized something... In the ending cutscene... Spoiler The song that the Sonics turned Super to... WAS SONIC 4.
Spoiler I realised this when first watching the scene and was like HOLY SHIT THE SONIC 4 THEME? Seriously, possibly the best use of the Sonic 4 theme by far.
Spoiler It was actually the Invincibility theme for Sonic 4, which was originally the Super Sonic theme for Sonic 4 and still is for the iOS port of it. I personally would have preferred the Sonic 2 music, but I liked the use of it. It was energetic, which is exactly what a super-powered hedgehog is. Anyway, come watch me do pretty well at Crisis City and ragequit due to bullshit at the end :P (bullshit on my part that is~)
Spoiler I like how the song is kind of a troll with how it kinda sounds like it's going to be Live & Learn
