I would suspect it's just an emulator. Could be wrong, though- maybe this game's Game Land analog?

It's a recycled texture, calm down. You're not going to see Werehog.

 

Lightning Shield, Bubble Shield, Skateboard, Speed Shoes, Time Stop? (Either Stop time or remove time from your count?)
Fire Sheld, Generic Shield, MotoBug with a Ring? (MotoBug racing anyone?), Spike Wisp, Rocket Wisp, and 7 Chaos Emeralds (Equivalent to a S Monitor?)

No 1-Up or Ring icons?

As for speculation for an emulator, they could pull a Gems Collection and just have an emulator load specific levels pertaining to the game. So we'd get the original Green Hill, Chemical Plant, and Sky Sanctuary.

 

Note how "Casino Night Zone" is the only level to have "Zone" attached to it.

 

Hmmm they have a Final Battle... Sonic vs Perfect Bio-Metal-Solaris-Gaia-Doom. Awh- Yeah!

The demo is good... though it still makes me think... why does Modern Sonic not still play like this? Is his game play really that good?

 

It would be so awesome if the 7 chaos emerald monitor IS just like the S-monitor, and it's for debug use. And if the debug mode would be opened up to us...

The Mega Drive thing could be like what Sonic gems Collection had: timed trails of the games set to the final bosses.

And the werehog and medal textures are clearly just leftovers from Unleashed seeing as it used the same engine.

 

Listening the music you guys ripped, I really like what I hear. My favourite so far is the Modern Sonic GHZ boosting version. Also I have never heard the 6 second 1 up jingle before. Sorry if I have posted it before, when I posted it, retro crashed for me and I did not see my post...

I had a boner the whole time I played this. Jesus christ...what the fuck were they thinking all those years, this game is MONEY!!! I could give a fuck less about modern stages, I want moar classic sonic. Jesus please make a game like this.

Also, anyone complaining about the physics can go fuck themselves, I think its an amazing update from the classic games. Its familiar, yet, not a carbon copy. It works.

 

Just finished listening to all the music and wow, it's actually pretty good. I normally don't like remixes, but the Classic GHZ theme was at least as good or better than the original imo. Both Title Screen themes were pretty good too. All the rest of the songs were moderately ok.

I'm still kinda confused as to why remixers like to use the original instruments of the song to make it sound "better". Don't get me wrong, I love the ol' YM2612 more than anybody, but the song can still be fantastic and "retro" without it, and without using the "cat sounds". I'm not sure if you'll understand what I'm getting at here, but hey.

So other than the Green Hill music, is there City Escape or any other music in the demo?

 

Just played the demo twice. Really enjoyable. Sonic still feels unresponsive, though, just like he has in Colours and Unleashed. I'm used to it by now, but I wish they could go back to controls that are more like the classics/Adventure, where Sonic moves as soon as you hit the button.

It's a fun game, though. Best stuff Sega's done in years, even though that leaked level list leaves a lot to be desired.

 

I have - it was used in Sonic: Project Mettrix - a fan game.

I'm not entirely sure which official game it's from. It would be interesting if it wasn't from an official title.

 

It's the "Congrats you unlocked something" theme from Sonic Adventure 2

 

People on GAF are saying the demo is actually an older build, much older than the one they showed off at Sonic Boom. Can anyone verify this?

 

The 1-up jingle in Generations is the "Extend!" unused jingle in Sonic Adventure.
