Sonic Generations Megathread

I don't like much of the level list since it's basically the same few tropes over and over again repeated. Casino Night as DLC is okay, and at least Planet Wisp is in because the music track is great and the level was worth playing (hoping that Jun Senoue doesn't touch it and leaves it to Kenichi Tokoi) but yeah, there should have been more variation, and they should have looked at making some more DLC levels to fill other levels worth being in, but then again there is the 3DS version.

 

Fuck, that's really the worst list ever. Seriously, where is my Sonic CD level? why the fuck do we only have tropical and city levels? Why do we have only 3 zones from Genesis era?

 

Over 400 people reading the topic? Jeez. ._.

But anyway, that level list is acceptable but a tad disappointing. The boss fights look good, I get to use Classic Sonic to beat the shit out of + - Silver   and + - Shadow   right? And the last boss, + - TimeEater   ... I wonder what that could actually be?

I'm excited to see this music come out. I want that Modern Sonic Green Hill mix badly.

Unfortunately that looks to be worse than Sonic 4, and this is coming from someone who liked Sonic 4.

The level list is disappointing yeah, I would've kept City Escape and change around the other levels. Probably Aquatic Base, Lost World, and Adabat. Hell, I'm disappointed they even put in Unleashed and Colors levels, but at least they picked my favorites from that game.

I'm sure it'll turn out to be fun to play regardless.

 

I still don't get why there's more stages than bosses, confusing.

EDIT: Though, perhaps Genesis is referring to Egg Genesis...

 

Seaside Hill was a clone of Green Hill by design, but with more water. Same damn checkerboard pattern and everything. Poor choice of zone here. Mystic Mansion would have been a much better choice for originality.

FOUR CITY LEVELS? WHAT THE FUCK? I'm seriously, this was a horrible decision, especially in a game that's attempting to appeal to classic fans, considering that the Genesis games were not exactly known for their city levels. The closest those games had was either Chemical Plant or Launch Base, neither of which really fits the trope.

Good choices, which will stand out from the rest. I guess Planet Wisp sorta acts as another GHZ, but it's different enough that I won't hold it against 'em.

Time Eater as name for boss confirmed.

As is Death Egg. Hoping that means you fight the Death Egg, but realistically it seems likely it's just the Sonic 2 final boss sequence.

 

I am very happy! Great stuff; looking forward to hearing a clean version of modern Green Hill. Really cannot understand why the level is included but hidden / locked...
