I'm voting that we keep posting here to a minimum. This is already Sonic 4 Episode I's thread again, only with Episode I DID wrong, rather than Episode I DOES wrong.

I think that when they realized people were talking shit about the leak, the game was finished as they planned it at first and to redo Episode One would've taken effort and money beyond the initial budget. The game was decent enough, so they shipped it. Adding features and fixing a couple things that wouldn't change the game in a major way, I'm sure that they can think about these changes from the get-go.

They'll prove shove some connectivity between the two episodes. hey we can see you have a savefile for episode one here's a little bonus

Not where I want to be.
Sonic (?): Coming summer of 2055...?
I remember some talk about that not being possible on the Wii. Am I being stupid?

Well, the Wii can do S&K lock on so I don't see why it couldn't for this

    S3&K wasn't a seperate rom entirely?

Besides that, that's Virtual Console. I don't know if it'd work the same way for WiiWare.

I think I'm more or less hoping they'll tweak the music a bit, because it certainly was awful. (Like said above, I personally liked Splash Hill Zone act 3 a lot.) But aside from that, That Casino stages second act was cool. (I forgot the stage name. my bad.)

Of course the physics, but yeah, who hasn't said that already. Aside from all of that, I am hoping for more original stages. If I wanted Green Hill, Casino Night, Labyrinth Zone, and Metropolis, I'd play Sonic 1 & 2.

Well it still had to make sure you actually HAD one of the others in order to use that lock-on, so surely it could read if Episode 1 is in the "channels" you have on the Wii Menu or something similar.

I guess so. Like I said, I don't really know what I'm talking about here, so I'll take your word for it.

That's right, it also works with Sonic 1 and 2, for playing Blue Sphere and Knuckles in Sonic 2.

I'm suprised at this actually, not being sarcastic here or anything either, a bigger budget to produce this game seems good though.

As a full games company I should expect them to realise them before the release of the first one, not after, that's not very professional in my mind.

Interesting, I'd like to see that infact, something unique and original, including the gimmicks used and the way it plays.

I'm disappointed in that, to be honest, now that I've seen what they can do, I'd much prefer a Sonic CD remake. Also I'm a tad confused here, why bring that up? Why Sonic CD of all Sonic games? Were they planning on it at some point and everyone didn't like the idea of it? Were people requesting it? I don't recall Sonic CD having anything to do with Sonic 4 to begin with, so what's this about a "not a Sonic CD remake"?

+ - If there's 6 and robotnik ends up taking his death egg around space to destroy planets, we'll know where this is going =P

They probably brought up CD cause of all the Sonic 1/2 rehash claims and the fact Episode 2 will have Metal Sonic, so they thought people might call it a CD rehash.

I'm amazed it took them this long to finally begin development on Episode 2.

I have absolutely no expectations for this whatsoever, Episode 1 was abysmal in every possible way for me.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who felt disappointed when they read that about Sonic CD. I also found it weird about it being brought up because I haven't heard anything about Sonic 4 and Sonic CD having any connections whatsoever. I was always under the impression Episode 2 would have more inspiration off of Sonic 2 and possibly Sonic 3 and introducing Tails. If Episode 2 has a lot of Sonic CD inspiration in terms of levels and music you can definitely call me excited, does this also mean Amy and Metal Sonic might make an appearance? Where did you hear that Metal Sonic was definitely going to be in Episode 2? If they did any kind of rehashing of Sonic zones the most tolerable and pretty exciting to me would be the Sonic CD zones especially Stardust Speedway and Collision Chaos.

After the credits roll you get a silhouette of Metal Sonic.

I'm amazed people were expecting a CD remake, actually. I'd prefer they kept further rehash/remake out of Sonic 4 and for other titles myself...which the first part seems to be happening, so yay!

I thought you meant like actual words from someone confirming it. Believe me I don't want anymore rehash/remakes either but if there was any kind of rehashing/remaking to be done I would be pretty happy if it were Sonic CD. I'm looking forward to an idea of them possibly making zones out of cut zones from previous titles like Dust Hill Zone, Hidden Palace Zone, Wood Zone, Cyber City, and the mysterious Desert Zone of Sonic CD including that badnik that tries to eat Sonic from the ending cutscene. If they turned those into actual working zones I'd have to say that would make me pretty happy.

Like I said earlier, the biggest disappointment from Sonic 4 Episode 1 to me was not so much the physics but the fact it was basically Sonic 1 and Sonic 2 all in one game. The only things I liked though was some additions to the originals like adding new gimmicks with the final boss from Sonic 2, cards in Casino Street, the different styled cork screw bolts in Mad Gear and the features in Labyrinth Zone. The music was good just the instruments and boisterousness that ruined it, and I found Casino Street to be boring out of all the songs. I really want to see new zones that are really nicely made and look cool and new badniks and new bosses. If Sega can give me good content that is new and reminiscent to the Genesis era and improve bugs and physics that Sonic 4 Episode 1 had I'll be pretty happy.

I'm actually glad their aren't going to rehash SCD, I'd rather Iizuka and Dimps didn't butcher one of my favourite games.

As my expectations of S4E2, it would be great to see new level tropes. Dimps have introduced some intresting ideas in the Advance series, such as the techno level. If this matched the Advance series in terms of playability and also design I'd be fairly satisfied.

One of the major issues for me was the price, justifying such a short poorly made game when better is available for cheaper else where. I doubt we will see a drop in price as Ep. 1 sold well.

Yeah, I'm a bit skeptical about Episode 2. But the first game was fun for $3. iPhone version was on sale at Christmas. I do have a list of things Episode 2 needs to improve:
    Momentum
    More original levels
    More levels in general
No timer on the special stages
More balanced difficulty (most of the game was easy, Lost Labyrinth boss still kicking my ass. Never beat him)
A reason to keep playing (I'm still playing Adventure 2 months after beating it simply because of the Chao garden)

And of course, there are things I am just wishing for:
    Other playable characters
    Race against Metal Sonic
    Connected narrative, Sonic 3 style
Super Emeralds (why did they get rid of those anyway?)
Even if it won't be a Sonic CD remake, time travel would still be cool

Isaiah Berlin was a philosopher, rather than a poet. Having read his essay 'Two Concepts Of Liberty' for Politics A-Level, though, it would have been a lot more fun as a poem. :p

I do wonder if we'll get more than five levels this time around. It just seems like six or eight is a more "stable" number.

As for the Super Emeralds, they were just devices to give you incentive to play the other Special Stages in S3K. There's really no weight to them otherwise.
